The customer is always right!........... BULL!
A day in my life at my job,
Customer comes in the store,
Me: How may i help you?
Customer: My washer is broken, Whats wrong with it?
Me: Well, whats it doing or not doing.
Customer: It just leaves all the clothes soaking wet!, How do i fix it?
Me: Do you know, Does it agitate and spin or does it just agitate?
Customer: its not doing either one!
Me: Ok, Then there is a high chance that your coupling is broken.
Customer: No.... It can't be that.
Me: OH???????
Customer: Ya, I guess i'll have to go tear into it and see whats wrong..... How do i get into those machines?
Me: I'll show you.
Next Day!
Customer: Ya, its this peice that is broke, You got one?( opens his hand to show peices of the part)
Me: I sure do, Thats the coupling
Customer: It Is?????
Me: Yep, I'll go get one for you.
Customer: O well... Ok.... I am just glad that I found the problem.
Me: Yep, Your a regular handy man( the whole time thinking in the back of my head that I told him what the problem was yesterday)
This customer is always right stuff is Bull!..... I have people come in day after day that think they know more than me when it comes to fixing appliances that have never fixed a appliance in thier lives... Why do people think this way???
It seems like every week i go to someones house and diagnose thier machine and they tell me i am wrong???[:(!]
Oh well, I guess its just part of the job[:(]
Atleast there are some customers out there that respect me and my knowlegde about appliances[^].
I am by no means saying that i am always right... I have been known to be wrong on one or two occasions... But those are just rumors that are floating around[;)][:D]
Sorry for the long read guys.... I just had another one of the customers on my "Bad People" list come in the store today and i am just venting now.

Did you call me? I had some of the same problems when I managed a Western Auto in Texas. It is aggrevating..But you have got to be nice[;)] 0 -
How about the customers that walk in at 5:59 and 45 seconds on Saturday evening (when the store closes at 6) hoping to get a bucket full of minnows so they can go ice fishing all night? I'm sorry, but the people who are working in the store are standing around the punch clock waiting for it to change to 6, it might be a bad time to try to get bait from them. We're people too, you know. We have families and lives and things we want to do with the rest of our Saturday, other than sticking around work for an extra 10-15 minutes for 2 customers who want a bucket full of fish and to maybe wander around and look at stuff they won't buy. Waiting to close for one customer would require a minimum of 3 people: the manager, the cashier, and the sporting goods employee who would be there only to scoop the fish into the bucket. Figure the manager is probably getting around $10 an hour, and the other two around $7.50 an hour. An extra 15 minutes would cost the store $8.75 for a $3 bucket of fish that probably only turns $1 profit. I'm no expert on economics, but that's not a very good cost/profit ratio.
Rant over.0 -

I know.... I hate that[:(!]... Just last night i had to be at bowling by 6:30 at the latest... Store closes at 5:30.
Customer comes in at 5:20 and i didn't get out of the store until 6:15 and barely made it to bowling on time.... The worst part is that the customers never bought anything![:(!]0 -
Only (UPPER MANAGEMENT) will tell you that because they are not there to deal with (THE CUSTOMER) 0 -
Your store closes at 6:00 PM, not 5:59:45. What's your problem? 0 -
Customer's and not "always right". When I was making custom knives, I
had one client order one that was very custom. I called him three
weeks after he ordered to let him know it was finished, and he was
all kinds of irrate that it was done so quickly, and he didn't have
time to change his mind on the details..[:0][?][:0]0 -

If you were to READ what I wrote, I very clearly said 5:59 and 45 seconds. 10 minutes and 15 seconds are more than enough time to fill a bucket of minnows. 15 seconds is not enough time to even unlock the gate that they were standing by.0 -
Hard life lesson. The customer isn't always right, but usually get's what he wants regardless.
That's how it works.
In my experience w/my employer, I'm amazed at:
A. How willing my company is to take obvious BS and get screwed by the customers.
B. How dishonest these customers are. Many of the customers are supposed "pillars of the community" who stand waving their hands in the air at church on Sunday. But would knife you in back over a dime.0 -
I hear where you are coming from stevenray, but, the customer is always right, even if he is wrong!
Let us say you have 100 customers, and half of them are like this dumb ass, they are know it alls, and they are wrong.
If you call it to their attention that they are wrong, and you get them mad, they will leave and go to another establishment, and your business will go broke.0 -
Or how about the people that think they are master electricians? They call and say they have a problem with such and such, you go over and look at it and tell them what the problem is. No, I think it's gotta be this right here cuz they talked to cousin Joe and he said it might be this right here. I say well get cousin Joe to come and fix it then.
Or how about the ones that say you charge too much to do the work. They call someone else to give them a price, and I end up being the one with the better price. They call back to get me to do the job, until I tell them my price just went up, cause I already burned my gas to go out there one time. That really makes them mad.0 -

I know Allen, That is why i simply smile and do my best to make them feel happy..... Then i come here and vent about how stupid they are.... Its my system[;)]0 -
you especially gotta love the customers that come to your store to return merchandise without a reciept that they "just bought here the other day" and it's clearly marked with another stores price tag. you say no. manager says yes anyways and the customer is happy. customer isn't always right but always leaves happy 0 -
Then you have got it figured out Stevenray, you are a smart businessman. 0 -
The customer may not always be right, however, you want them to return again happy $ome other day.
My $.02.0 -
It's not always good to make a customer happy.I try to pick and choose mine, and it seems 1 great one leads to 10 more good ones.Waste time on a bad one you end up loosing.Best to send them elsewhere. 0 -
do what one of my bosses always did!..if the customer thinks they are right when you know they arent ...10% extra...when they bring parts back to exchange because they are the wrong ones and they need the ones you told them in the first place...another 10%..next time they come in, they will listen! 0 -
I have made more sales by stopping and answering the customers questions than by blowing them off........ 0 -

+1... I agree 100%.... I NEVER treat a customer's question as a stupid one and go out of my way to make sure that thier questions are answered and try my best to make sure that they leave happy.
There are just some customers out there that you just can't make happy no matter what you do[V]..... Its like they are just looking for something to complain about[:(!]0 -

Heh heh,
Ya,
Wait till you sell something, the customers calls, and says it only runs when I hold the button in (jog), you explain that there is a control switch, where it is and to call back when he has it operating.
They never call back[}:)]0 -
try a customer that orders a 12oz porterhouse rare, then complains it is to cold, if you get it any hotter it will be overcooked
i kinda like locust forks approach to customer service[:D]0 -
One of my pet peeves is employees are vacuuming and getting ready to shut down their stores at 830 for when the store closes at 9. I expect 100% service on my part until the store closes. None of the places I even managed even began to close the store until the store store was closed for business. 0 -

I agree, I don't even start to close until the clock reaches closing time.
But atleast twice a week i'll get someone that comes in 5 minutes to closing and stays for a hour and never buys anything... Thats what ticks me off0 -

Well, Since i am the Sales man, Delivery man, And REPAIR MAN!..... If someone called in with this problem i simply go to thier house and fix it or explain to them how to operate it.... And since they just bought it from me there would be no charge either.
Customer service is the number one priority at my store and i always back my products up.... Which is why i sell only the best here[;)]0
