A good man is hard to find.

A good man set me back on the right track, today.and I wish to take the opportunity to thank him.
As many of you know, we here in the area suffered the worst ice storm in recorded history, back in December.
The tree limbs are shoulder deep, still yet, in many yards around here.

I spent several days in the little town just west of me, with a truck and 16 foot trailer, hauling limbs to the dumping site. Hauled 20 or so loads, stacked to the limits of the 4' sides I put on the trailer.
Not once in that time did any stop and help..or come out of a house to either thank me.OR help.

Bluntly, I have been..well..whining..about it. I took my trailer and truck and went home.

Today, as I was running the Stihl, chopping up my own trees and limbs, I happened to think about Danny.
"Dheffley", to most of you.

A few months ago, Danny went FAR beyond the being a `good guy'..and helped me solve a problem that had vexed me for years.
He didn't ask for payment.
He asked me to pass it on.
I don't remember him asking me to go up to the door and receive thanks for whatever I did.
Shame is a powerful motivator. Thanks, Danny, for putting me back on path.

I am grabbing a bite and heading back over there.

I have already BEEN thanked..just by knowing that out there..there are good, decent people.

    Thanks for the complement Bert, but you are the one who inspires me. You care for your fellow man and go above and beyond in trying to help, inform and educate them. It is my honor to be able to return the favor in what ever small way I can.

    All of us here should help and support each other when and where we can rather than insult, belittle and slander each other. Playing it forward is the right thing to do.

    I am humbled in your presence.

    Danny is an alright guy most of the time :)

    Being thanked in person in always a welcomed thing, in your heart you know your doing a good thing. Look past that, and consider that there are probably quite a few people thankful beyond what you think for what you are doing. Keep it up, very few people give of themselves for others for reason anymore. Karma is your friend :)

    Sitting here tired..but as happy as an old fart like me can be.

    Another yard cleared of debris..another small chunk of bread thrown on the water.

    Danny, this describes me well..I am aware of that. Abusive, abrasive and pushy.
    As you are well aware, I feel the steady loss of freedoms...ALL of them..keenly.

    A sense of despair is never a good position to deal from.and despair is what I feel over the loss of America.
