LEO Our Guns

I know this has been on before, but there is some new LE on now. Would you take away our guns if told to do so. Any type of of LEO. I do know that Nunn has stated in the past that it would be a sad day, he would just go home. What would you do cause I would like to know and others what kind of person you really are. Use to be some guy from Montana on here said he would have no problems when taking away gun if was order to do so. Have not seen him on here for a long time, No big lost.

    without getting into details of classified-compartmetalized intel...if they try to take mine they will meet "david", "goliath", and "icarus" and I will be nowhere within weapons range

    and no, those are not teh names of my dogs...I would never let beloved pets fight my battles

    I have been a cop for the last 13 years, starting when I was only 20 years old. I have taken some heat and some prety sharp jabs for some of my opinions on here, but the day that my job conflicts with my personal beliefs, i.e, my belief to keep and bear arms, is the day I resign. I do honestly believe that any and all law abiding citizens have the right to gun ownership, and I would not be part of a governmental entity that destroys, hinders or infringes on this right.

    Thanks wartiger now we know where you stand. Dano as far as the military I am not sure where they would stand? I am a vet. not sure of the new military where they would stand. So Dano did bring up a good question, so where would you stand military people.

    I would never follow that order and I know none of our other guys would. But some Im sure would follow their orders, look how some of your big City cops feel about citizens having firearms in their possesion.

    What, you doubted me? [:0] Like I said, I've taken my lumps, but, I respect all the opinions on here, at least I respect your right to voice your opinion, whether I agree or not. All I ask is the same.

    Well guys it might be as Nunn said the regular guys would not. but the chief of police now that is a different story altogether, I know have a few who would not , not too many, even my best friend of many years would jump right in there and help take gun away from us. Sad. I am not sure how the military would stand as in the past they have went the wrong way some times. Since the early part of the 1900s they have went against us some times. I would like to hear from some of the military on this. Thanks

    Just for kicks and grins;

    Given that the ban has happened. The guns are starting to be turned in.(most of the population will turn them in..whinning about it)

    Now..how do I tell WHICH of the police will bust me for the .45 in my car...and which won't ?
    Given a traffic stop, mind you....

    Now that you mention it.

    Back in the late '70's the DOD did a survery of military folks and that was one of the questions buried in the middle of a lot more. Not sure how others answered that question but know how I did.

    ...Oh bull-snot. Your guns and gun rights are being taken now with a pen, not by LEO's or the military. Foreign countries in time of war knew better than to invade US soil because of the amount of individual firearms; you think our government isn't just as wise, of course they are.

    ...The 2nd has been and is being chipped away steadily, every new gun law takes away more of our rights. I doubt there will ever be a physical attempt to strip us of firearms, why should there be; a little propaganda, a new "feel good" law, is all it takes; one only has to look to recent history to see that, ie; AWB that just expired...look at all THAT ONE law BANNED, w/o a single knock on anyone's door.

    ...Semi-auto, can and will be considered as an AW, bye-bye .22's, and center fire hunting rifles, shotguns, handguns that are semi's; if it is written, it will be "twisted" to the Nazi's benefit.

    ...Wake up, get off your azz's, or YOU WILL LOOSE THE RIGHTS THE 2nd HAS GIVEN US.

    ...I'm getting older and have lived the best part of my life, believe I'm to old to see it happen; you guys under 40 best hold onto your shorts, or do a LOT of fighting, or the gun-grabber Nazi's will take your rights within the next 20 years,...with a pen while you "sleep"...[;)]

    I think by the time that it comes down to that the local LEO's will be the first ones to go because the powers that be would not trust us to blindly disarm our fellow citizens.

    "They" will probably send in some jack booted storm troopers to do it for them.. Probably some foreign troops. More than likely Mexican Military, at least here in Texas.

    Here's how it would probably happen. First, everybody that has ever seen a shrink, or taken an anti-depressant will be deemed unfit to own guns, and they will be taken away.

    Then, anyone that is convicted of a violent crime, even a misdemeanor (ie barfight) will not be able to own firearms.

    Then, they'll have all assault rifles be registered. After that, they'll go through records, and find who owns assault rifles that havn't been turned in. They'll take all of their guns for having unregistered assault rifles.

    Then, they'll do the same with handguns.

    During this time, they'll make storage laws, and if you don't comply you'll lose your right to own firearms.

    Then, they'll confiscate all of them.

    It's not going to happen overnight. We won't be that lucky.

    They'll systematically, over time disarm the populace, and leave the lucky few to fight the losing battle.

    That's why it's so important to remain steadfastly against any new restrictions to firearms ownership.

    The gun grab will happen and you will comply.

    There more LEOs under 35 than the older ones who have not been indoctrinated so you will comply with the law enforcement officers request.

    Prepare for this within the next five years.

    If we are lucky and the anti-gun McCain wins the White House then we can be at ease that we will have a system like Canada.

    If we are unlucky enough for the Obama-Klinton regime to get in the White House then all bets are off.

    The gun grab started long ago and now the final push comes with Romney bowing out of the presidential race.

    As Fishermanben said, gents- your gun rights will not be swallowed whole by a great while shark- they will be nibbled to death by ducks. A bit at a time. And each measure will be called "reasonable".
