Are DPMS Panther Arms any good???

just wondering, because there stuff is less expesive than the others. I personally have a Bushmaster, and love it. I want to buy a flat-top reciever, and it looks like Panther's are the least expensive.

    some of the best. DPMS's have tighter tolerances than say a bushmaster. they tend to be a little picky when it comes to feed them. at least that is my experience.

    have you checked Rock River Arms they are less expensive than say a bushmaster. Personally Bushie's are over priced. only because they seem to have a large market share. not many gun stores that sell AR that don't sell bushie's

    Correct I ordered a DPMS chambered in 7.62x39. It would not chamber, period.

    They are very good, I figure mine was just a fluke.

    I like DPMS. Havent got out to shoot them yet, but the feel of the action is awesome, the fit between the uppers and loweres is perfect, absolutely no play.

    I was wondering because I found a brand new DPMS upper reciever for $72.00! I think it is the Varminting reciever, it has the 1 7/8" raised rail, and is not equiped to use a forward assist or ejecton port cover to make it more "stream lined".

    This reminds me of a question I've been running through my head.

    Cerebus bought DPMS along with Cobb. Both make an AR 10. The other major manufacturer of the AR-10 is Armalite.

    Why would Cerebus want 2 out of the 3 maufacturers?
    Do they intend to make an offer for the third manufacturer?
    Is there anyothers making the AR-10?

    DPMS makes excellent rifles.

    Captplaid. Just so you can ponder more. They also own BUSHMASTER who although they could not get their 308 to work does sell a ton of 223 AR's. Maybe the Bushmaster quality will come up to the DPMS standard![}:)]

    They also own Remiington, and have you seen Big Greens new line of 15's? Remington is in the process of acquiring marlin now also.

    I wasn't sure at first, but I bought a DPMS and I now love it. Upper & lower fit perfectly and it is an awesome gun Don't be afraid to buy one of these !! Another good brand is Stag!

    Buddy of mine has the 308 version. He says it is picky on ammo and that the trigger is horrible. Other than that he like his.

    The 2 DPMS .308's I owned were so good, that I went out and bought a DPMS 5.56 upper to top off a Bushy lower. All of the DPMS guns I own(ed) have been great.
