The car auction
I was watching some of the car auction and it reminded me of the field full of old cars near pigeon forge tn. that are all rotting away. Has anybody else seen this field on their way to the shooting range in pigeon forge?

Most of the time if a lot of cars are still in a field that can be seen from the road, the owner is a nut case and wont let any go.[:(] Thinks there going to restore themselves someday and make him rich.[:p]

Yes.
The owner obviously has invested in a low yield field and may lose his equity to rust fees if he does not move them .....

Melrose, New Mexico I think has a zoning law that says you MUST have atleast one in your back yard. Most of the cars in peoples yards were '50s and '60s models that probably blew a head gasket in 1966 and have been sitting there ever since.
I used to knock on a few doors now and then when I was looking for a new project. Everybody knew what they had and wouldn't part with it or wanted BIG $$$$. One guy had a straight '55 shoe box, chrome was beat, interior sun dried for 30 years in the desert sun but body was straight and frame was solid, good glass and engine complete. He said he'd sell it for $8000, and that was in 1994 before the big boom in the market.0
