Swamprabbit
I hunt cottontails in Va,forum members who hunt Swamprabbit tell me your hunt tales.I know their larger than cottons.I hunt 15" beagles that are quick and would love to hunt some swampers!!

Them swamp rabbits in the Atchafalaya basin are as big or bigger than my 15" bluetic beagles!!!!! Goin' after them this week and will let you know the body count.[:D] 0 -
I used to spend many a day hunting them "BLACK-FOOTS" up in So. Joizy.Killed some 5-6 pounders, some even bigger. 0 -
When i was a teenager,there was a farmer who lived on the northern neck of va..Had a huge farm thousands of acers.Him and his wife had a cottage on the potomic river near us.We used to spend Thanksgiving down at our place there.His farm hands liked to rabbit hunt and had beagles to run the rabbits.Robert was a nice man and knew I liked to hunt.He would invite me to go on these rabbit hunts.Those dogs worked all day long.Into those bier filled wind rows they would go and root out the rabbits.The rabbits would hit the field wide open if you were not quick on the draw all you saw was a trail of dust and a rabbit disapering into the distance.Robert died sometime ago,he was older when I met him and I am not a teenager anymore.Your post made me remember a happy time from a long time ago.Thanks 0 -
