Suggestions on a new digital camera

I would like to upgrade to a camera that will do both movies and still photos. Any suggestions as to what I should look for?

    Digital is overrated.

    110 film or polaroid is the way to go![:D]

    If you want something small and reliable that will with stand the eliments I have to suggest the Pentax Optio. It is 100% waterproof, takes great photos and can take short movie clips.

    Gonna need the camera and an SD memory chip, but DSC-S650

    FYI, 12 megapixel has the same resolution as 35mm. Of course, you don't want to do movies at that resolution.

    I like both the Fuji and the Olympus cameras I have, but the only shoot about a minute of movie at a time, so I don't know of a good movie/camera combo.

    ive never tried movies on mine but i know it does it..

    ill ask my buddy what camera he has, it takes like 15 mins of videos then pictures...

    but its only 6mp or so

    We have more Digital camera's than I can even tell you. But I can say I noticed a unusualy high number of Kodak camera's and printers for sale that had been refurbished. I have a C340 and upgraded to a C733 both do photo's and short video clips. Ive never had any problem with the 340 but the 733 has been sent back once and is not working properly now. I had to replace one series 3 printer dock. My wife has a Nikon and has never had a problem. She also has one that works well she uses with her PC but I dont know the brand. The Kodak's print beautiful pics and do great short clips of video. You will want a 2 GB SD(Secure Digital) HS(High Speed) memory card to get the best from your camera. I think I can take up to 2000+ pics before having to put them on a memory stick etc, with mine using that card. Good Luck!!

    PEON you are obviously completely technologicly challenged. Everyone knows that the Kodak Disc cameras and the Square Shooter 2 are the most advanced cameras on the planet since they stopped making Brownies!!![;)]

    I'd go with Sony. Owned several Sonys and no complaints. They have a line of camcorders that record (movies) direct to a DVD and will take stills recorded to a Memory Stick. Used to take all my eBay photos on a Sony camcorder until I sold it. Their prices start at about $350.00.

    For a small (i call it a shirt pocket camera) I ues a Nikon coolpix it will take somewhere around 650 pictures on a high resalution with a 1 gig SD card over 2500 on a low resalution setting and something like 15 min of vidio. Eazy to transfer pictures to the computer too.
