buy a vehicle off e bay if so how did it turn out?
found a pickup but is in texas longways from here to run and take a look at in person. not having any luck finding much for pickups up here.

I have bought 2 off of ebay without a problem but both of them were close enough to go look at before I bid 0 -
I've bought two cars off e-bay. If the seller is a good one, he will give you the chance to inspect the car when you come to pick it up. If it doesn't meet your approval, he will refund your money. One I bought was in Michigan (58 Fury) and one in Nashville (Honda CR-V). Both deals went really smooth, and I would buy off e-bay again. 0 -

I flew out to Texas from SC to pick up a truck a couple years back. Seller and warranty is the issue. Mine came from a Chev. Dealership and still had warranty. Run a 25 buck carfax report if you are serious after speaking to the seller. IF the vehicle is trash or has a bad title when it is sent to you Carfax should back up the warranty IF you run it prior to purchasing the vehicle. I have bought probably a dozen vehicle off fleabay and knock on wood no problems. What year Ford is it and tell me it is a stroker.. 0 -

They were accused of it, and doing so knowingly, but I never heard if they were found guilty. Either way, the accusation was enough to send me elsewhere.
If they have something you are interested in, be sure to CarFax the title to be sure it's clean.0 -

I would for sure would car fax it.....but if title has been washed how would a person know?0 -

My brother in law bought an old muscle car off ebay, and he used a car inspection service. A trained mechanic / inspector in the area drives over to where the car is, looks it all over and tests it, and sends the potential buyer a report. As I remember it cost about $350 - $400, but my brother in law used the report as a negotiating tool and knocked about $200 off the price of the car. All in all, money well spent.

Look for it to be titled in 3 states, this is normal for cleaned titles. If it was titled in Louisiana, the Delaware, then Texas, it most likely was issued a salvage title in Louisiana, then cleaned in the Delaware, then transferred to a Texas title (with a clean history because Delaware doesn't designate "Salvage" on their titles, so Texas doesn't know) for sale.
Texas, like California and many other states will not issue a clean title on any title from any state that has issued a "Salvage" title. Once it is marked "Salvage" on the title, Texas maintains that designation. Delaware is one of a few states that will issue a clean title regardless of what another state has designated it.
I wish I knew which states cleaned titles and which didn't, but if the original title was issued in Texas and there are no other states listed on the title list, it is a clean title.
If it has been originally titled in another state, or has been moved between states, you have to check those states to see if a "Salvage" designation has ever been issued.
CarFax will have the title history, and I think they give warnings if one of the states is a non-designation (title cleaning) state.

just about all the one ton dually pickups i am watching are in Texas.
there is a saying up here for farm machinery....If it has red dirt on it run away as fast as you can....dont know if that applies for autos?
