Has anyone here shot any?

Sportsman's guide has it for $176 for 500 rds. Good deal?

    Excellant ammo. Slightly more accurate (for me) than US M2 ball surplus. CMP has it for the best prices if you are authorized to buy from them.

    I hadn't thought of going through the CMP.

    Even if I have to join an affiliated organization, the overall costs will be lower.

    Well, I just sent off my membership application to the Kentucky State Rifle and Pistol Association.

    The membership fee ($20) was less than the difference between the cost of CMP ammo and Sportsman's guide ammo.

    Besides, I'd rather my money go to a good cause.

    Rack ops does the $176 include shipping?

    I can get it for $72 I think for 192 rounds on en clips ship included. It's like $58-$59 plus $11-$13 for shipping.
    A little cheaper in bulk.

    That can be an expensive mistake. LOL

    Here's 480 rounds for $127 from CMP ship included. or 768 rounds for $238.

    But you need certification from the range, copy of your birth certificate and membership from a CMP affiliate to buy ammo/guns.

    Sportsmansguide has the most reasonable shipping rates of all the big mail-order companies in my experience, plus great prices. I almost always buy from them. But, if you're getting a better deal with the CMP, more power to you. Money talks loudest in my book.

    Rack Ops - try www.thegca.org, they're the largest CMP affiliated club, 25 bucks a year and a great and really informative magazine for Garand owners, shooters, and collectors. That will satisfy any requirement to belong to a cmp affiliated club.

    Or, try Tony at Orion7 Enterprises (www.m1garandrifle.com), he's got piles of it for 60 bucks a can plus freight.

    I've shot a lot of this ammo through my M1, never a misfire, hangfire, or dud of any kind, probably a little hotter than Lake City, and the brass reloads really well.

    Maybe it is just the stuff I have ordered but I never buy anything from either of them as Widener's has always been less and I have no loyalty other than to me getting the lowest price.
    But, widener's ships UPS and it might be they are close enough to me that the shipping is less than it would be for others.
