mateomasfeo... question...sex offenders

I agree that some people on the sex registry should not be on it.But I think most do.

Here is something I dont understand.

In a town near me a man and wife are on the sex offender list because they " allowed the rape and molestation of a minor child in their care" Why does this same law not apply to the 15 year old with the 18 year old boyfriend? If the parents knew what was going on it seems like, at least here in Oklahoma, they would be just as much at fault.

Any laws like that for you? Or am I not getting enough info for the folks near me?

    There are laws like that in Texas.

    It is up to the DA to bring the charges.

    Well gosh seems like the parents were allowing the "child" to be put in harms way. That is just wrong. Like you said the 18 year old will be branded for life.

    Happens all the time. Of course the parents play ignorant and their child says they didn't know.

    Seems like it's usually teachers or doctors that get nailed on that one for not reporting an incident they have knowledge of to the authorities.
