Poor choice for pics
It still irks me and makes me cringe when I see someone place a firearm on a rock, nail, concrete sidewalk or the like to take a pic. Whats wrong with your carpeted living room floor or a nice purple sheet?

it doesnt bother me, but i usually put it on the carpet, or my chair with padded leather arms. 0 -
I noticed that pic of LF's when it was initially posted...I see she has since corrected the problem with some plastic tubing...

I put mine on our bed which makes Mrs. LJWrench (or as I call her, LJWENCH[:D]) upset because I sometimes get oil on our comforter. 0 -

Here's a suggestion for a nice pic of a single firearm...
Hang it by the trigger guard and near the muzzle from the ceiling with 2 lengths of heavy cord a couple of feet in front of a light grey or soft blue sheet.
Adjust focus and light for the firearm and snap away.
With photo editing flip the firearm right side up, erase the cord and crop the photo.
The pic will really show off the firearm with nice depth around it and no background distractions.
As I said... just a suggestion.... not trying to tell anyone how to take their photos. [:)]0 -

Picky Picky...
In my defense, ( The IJ Carbine ) it was one bad windy day, sheet wasnt holding long enough for a shot. And everywhere I tried lighting sucked for my cheepy digi camera. Now, if you like, send me a bad boy digi camera and Ill hook ya up with some better pics. Deal?
Its not like people just throw their stuff on the concrete, sheesh.
Now the nail hangning on that nice barrel finish, I can understand.

On the other hand, you do have a good point. My inside lighting is all soft flourecents. And those are no good for photos especially with digitals. Even with flashes you get that spot light affect (Photo with purple back ground ). The best in my opinion is outside bright sun light. Best back ground in my opinion is white or red, when its firearmes that your taking photos of. When I shot the photos for my auction time wasnt on my side. I should have. But didnt. The concrete setting was a haste thought. Look at the others with the red back ground. The images stand out. Only wished i had a better camera for auctions. But I dont. As for lighting, sun light rules. LOL, just make sure it isnt a windy day if your using some kind of cloth back ground.0 -
