gun for ammo

How many of you will buy a gun 250/500 bucks because you have a couple boxes of ammo in the drawer for 2years. Not me-ha ha

    I have 4 boxes of .44 mag in my safe.

    I sold my .44 rifle last year.

    I might be in trouble.

    Haven't done it, but its not out of the question.

    The cost of ammo is appreciating faster than the cost of guns. And with some rounds going for $1 each (or more) its not so crazy.

    If you shoot a lot, the cost of ammo outweighs the cost of a gun anway.

    If I could find a large amount of any kind of useable ammo cheaply enough, I wouldn't think twice about buying a gun to match the ammo.

    Shot up the ammo, then sold the gun.

    I'm looking for a .308 now, to shoot up the ammo I have.

    I have bought ammo with the intention of getting a gun in that cal. sometimes I end up buying the gun and sometimes not. A couple of time the cal. was hard to find out of production and I made good money when I resold it.

    Yep, been there, done that. Got two cases of .357 mag ammo, saving for my new Colt King Cobra.

    I bought 19 boxes of 30 06 and 15 boxes of 30 30 , 14 boxes of 20ga and dont own any of the guns (YET) catch was the ammo was $1.50 a box 20ga was .50 a box [:p][:p][:p]

    i have picked up a 20 bolt gun now and looking for others [:p][:p]

    Just did. Had a couple of boxes of 9mm largo just sitting on a shelf for months all alone. Walked into a local gunshop last week and sitting there on the top shelf was a Astra 1921 in very good condition. Talked to the owner and he said he got it in a trade a few days ago and when he shot it sometimes the hammer wouldn't drop. Well I needed a new project(not really I have enough to last me a lifetime) so I handed him the money took it home tore it down and proceeded to clean the old grease that had turned in to cement from it. Few days and a hundred rounds later it goes bang every time.

    Have 2 boxes of 32 auto, however I doubt I will but such a mouse gun.

    I was given 2000 rounds of 7.62x39 and had contemplated getting a AK or SKS but decided to sell it to buy .223 for the Mini-14 I already owned. I do have 50 rounds of .32/20 and no firearm for it either-maybe I'll have to find a SAA or clone lol.

    I have bought a gun only because I had reloading dies for the ammo it took.

    never bought shells because I didnt want the temptation sitting there.

    I'll be happy to take any old clunkers off your hands, just so I can have a gun that will fire some of the cartridges I have laying around.
    One that fires any of these would be nice

    Daveald, there are several people on this board that know quite a bit more about cartridges than I do.

    Mk 19, there are quite a few things that I don't have/am looking for.
    Not to many quakes in Michigan (and if there were I wouldn't be keeping them in that kind of display).
