Foggy pics of a blazing thing I drive by most days

One night on the way home I stopped and took a pic of this thing. It is some kind of coke plant....industrial area. This thing is burning 24-7....but with the fog it was pretty cool looking. I have no idea why...but I thought I would share the pics.

    There's something a lot like that near me. I think they're burning off methane extracted from a landfill.

    That thing is higher than most buildings in Birmingham. There was a thing that looked like a water tower in that complex....it exploded. It melted the paint off the cars parked up and down the street and blew out every window within 1/4 mile of the place.

    Yeah there was one of those about 35 miles away one night. It looked like a barn fire 2-5 miles away. Mom and I persued it for about 10 miles before we figured where it was. The night's condition was just right where it lit up the sky. Occassionally the place did go boom.

    I used to work in a coke plant (an annex to a steel mill) during my college summers - photograph it to your heart's desire - BUT - don't ever, never, EVER breath it! You don't want to KNOW what's IN it!

    its a secret underground government installation , they are so full of crap that they vent the air so the smell can burn off[;)][:D]
