New authors

I listen to a lot of audio books. I drive 3hrs one way to work each week so I have burned through a lot of books.

Some of the authors I like are:
Dean Koontz
Stephen King
Tom Clancy
James Patterson
John Grisham
Douglas Adams

I would like some more good authors as I have heard most of the books from these folks.

    How about the Michener series? The audio story line should last about one book per 3hr round trip (6hr total). There's Alaska/Caribbean and I cant think of more offhand.

    W.E.B. Griffin's books on "The Corps", heard in sequence, follows characters in their development through WWII. Many hours there.

    Get Larry McMutry's "Buffalo Girls" for about 20 hours run-time.

    Also, Clive Cussler's standard gang of characters is featured repeatedly for you to "follow along" with. About 2hr. each.

    And, look for "Brilliance, Inc" tapes. They have an orange oval on them stating "unabridged". Long tapes. Several authors covered there. Your player must have a left-right speaker bias to use.

    I did the same thing when I spent all of my time on the road, I really enjoyed listening to:

    Bryan Jaques
    C.S. Lewis
    Tolkin

    Along with anything else my local library carried. Thats right just check them out at the library, it'll save you a bundle on buying them. Plus many local tuck stops will have several that you can check out, the nice thing is that their stock is always changing.

    We have a "friends of the library" outlet that sells library surplus for .50/paperback and $1/audio.

    Please do yourself a favor and get David Morrell, my favorite is The Fifth Proffession, but he has several good ones. On audio? i'm just not sure.

    I would buy his books on line, download them, then run it thru micro soft reader program then burn them to disks for the truck.

    If you like the classics try the C.S. Forester series about the British sailor Horatio Hornblower. He was also the author of "The Affrican Queen."

    Anything by Larry McMurtry is a good read.

    He has a new one coming out next month called Missouri River, I can't wait! I just finished the Berrybender series by him.
