I just realized that that is the day that marks the completion of my 6th year in the US Army.

    It is coming up here pretty quick, don't know the exact date, but I got out of boot camp 19 years ago.

    Congrats to all of you (and thanks!) The first 20 years are the hardest! As far as who made what grade- Gents, that will vary SHARPLY depending on your MOS, service, and the size of the shooting war going on. In WW II there were folks flying B-17s as Aircraft Commander that could not vote. There were 4 of us in my OCS class, all NCOs, that were under 21. Unheard of today.

    Absolutely true. Air Force seems to be slower on the promotion side. Navy if you are a nuke head, you are a fast burner. Army and marines seem to be about close to each other as far as promotion goes. I retired after 20 years, 5 months and 10 days. First 10 years goes kind of slow, my last 5 seemed to fly bye.
