Received word today that Ron Snow has passed away!!! Ron was a great friend, he's going to be missed!!

His life, in his own words ...
I sold Christmas cards when I was in grammar school, worked on a farm selling fruit and vegetables until after I completed high school. Tied and sold fishing flies on both a retail and wholesale basis all during high school and for many years after. Started working in an insurance agency in 1966 selling and underwriting both personal and commerial lines of insurance as well as bonding. Opened my own retail sporting goods store in 1981 and still operate it.
Customer satisfaction is #1. Give them what they want and they will keep coming back. If there is a problem with the item you sold then stand behind it even if you lose money. Treat every customer in the same manner as you would like to be treated.0 -

Description for Item # 83462705
Mauser Modelo Argentino 1891, mfg. Loewe, Berlin. This is a well chopped gun. Stock has finely carved using an axe. The barrel has been shortened to 18.5 inches leaving the barrel without a crown and the muzzle with quite an angle to it. There are no sights. The action and trigger appear to work fine ad the bore is in good condition. The exterior metal has had its finish removed with either a course wire wheel or rough rock, hard to tell which!! A real project gun for you Mauser fans.
This is one of the funniest listings I have ever seen. I posted it on another forum where Mauser guys hang out, they really got a kick out of it. I emailed Ronald several times about this listing.

How sad... Of course I didn't know him as not having been here long enough. Still I felt a jolt when I saw and read this post as I had just a bit earlier read his post explaining the diagnosis of his chest pains. I'm speculating but it seems whoever did that diagnosis may have messed up. Very unfortunate.
None of us know what's in store. Yesterday is gone forever and tomorrow is but a promise.

Ron was indeed one of the "good" guys. He possessed a lot of valueable knowledge that is forever lost. Fortunately, he did pass along some of his life-long learnings to many people he came in contact with on this great forum before he departed this world. Rest in peace Ronald Snow[:(]. 0 -

Wow, I can't belive Ron is gone. I always loved reading his post as he was very knoledgeable and helpful to eveybody. There are few that I hold such respect for on the Experts forum. I'm really going to miss him.

I bought a gun from Ron awhile back. Nice guy and a straight shooter. I just read a post last night from him that he was sick. God bless him and his family. Sad to lose the good ones. 0 -

Any of you that have been bidding on my auctions (snowflakefirearms) please be patient. I went home from the store last Sunday and ended up in the hospital with what they thought was a possible heart attack. Turns out it isn't a heart related problem but a problem with joints and muscles of the shoulder, chest, neck and spine. I will try to get back to you all in the next few days. Please be patient and I will get all the emails done and the packages out. Thank you, RJSnow0 -

i purchased my first gun from ron when i was 14 years old. it was a Remington semi auto 30-06 for 295 bucks. after i had the gun for a few months we noticed there was a problem with it and ron took it back no questions asked. instead of having the gun fixed he gave me his own Remington model 4 .308 that was in mint condition and worth way more than the other rifle. just before deer season that year i decided to buy a scope so i went to see ron and see what he could do for me. i picked out an inexpensive Bushnell and we agreed that i would make payments on it and after the first payment i tried to make more on it and me wouldn't accept the money. i finally gave up realizing that he had given it to me. thats just one of many examples of how great he really was. were all going to miss u ron. hopefully we meet again someday.
