Les Baer Thunder Ranch vs Premier II

I am preparing to purchase my first Les Baer. Can anyone help me with a choice between the Thunder Ranch Special and a Premier II?

  You can't go wrong with either one. Both models you listed have a number of variants. If going with the Premier II, I would get the 6" model, over the 5" one, for a bit better accuracy.
  
  While all Les Baer pistols are guaranteed to shoot at least a 3" group at 50 yards, the Premier II is good for 1 1/2" at 50.
  
  I went with the Thunder Ranch Home Defense model which has the M3 Tactical Illuminator on it. I used it in competition, and wanted to be able to shoot the flashlight matches with it.
  
  I have NOTHING bad to say about the pistol, BUT, I do have a gripe with the mags. The springs weakened to the point where it would NOT hold the slide open after the last round was fired. (on all 5 factory mags I have, at the same time, and this was only after a couple of years) I talked to Les, and he made good on it, and sent me new springs. But be aware, that you can NOT order springs from Wolff, if you tell them it is for a Les Baer mag. Something about the contract they have. A few Wilson 8 round mags wouldn't be a bad idea, if you don't care if it voids the warranty. [:0][B)]
  
  If you get either of the two I listed, you may, or may not, have a time finding a holster for them. The 6" will not fit a regular holster, which most are designed for a 5" barrel. With the TR home defense, having the light on it, finding one can be tricky. Even if you take the light off, the frame, under the barrel, extends farther than a regular 1911. Just a friendly heads up on holsters.
