    I'm not joking here. I came across this recipe some years ago and looked for it the other day when this thread was hot but couldn't find it. I since did find it so thought I'd add it on...

    MOOSE MUFFLE SOUP
    A moose muffle or mouffle or moufle is the nose and the pendulous, overhanging upper lip of the moose. Boiled, baked, or fried it's a delicacy. But here is a soup recipe.

    Moose nose makes a delicious broth and can be used for soup stock. Take one or two noses of moose, wash and slice. Put them in pot of boiling water; drop in two fair sized onions (if onions are not available use sage or marjoram leaves.) Add a little salt & pepper for seasoning. Bring to boil then simmer about one hour. You will find it makes a delicious broth if you can forget what you are eating. P. S. Moose Muffle is not recommended for trophy hunters as it louses up the head for mounting.

    Italian soup
    1 lb of antelope or deer bulk sausage browned.
    1 pkg colored tortelinni
    chicken broth to desired consistancy
    Oregeno, sage, basil, Italian seasoning
    Add parmeason(sp) sour cream for garnish
