A world with no people?

Starting at 10 tonight, what would the earth be like if people were gone?

    It was an intriguing show.
    Humans have not always been here, and someday, we will be gone.
    They showed how structures would deteriorate. All the wood buildings would rot away pretty quickly, of course.
    The skyscrapers would begin to lose windows, because of not being heated. The caulk or rubber that holds the windows in would freeze, and fail. Windows would fall out. Skyscrapers would turn into giant pigeon roosts.
    Also, if the animals could escape from the zoos [I hear that happens sometimes] then herds of lions and tigers would prowl the North American continent, especially in the southern states. They also said that wolves would reestablish themselves over the entire continent.
    They said that the Brooklyn Bridge would fail do to lack of maintenance. The steel cables would rust in two, and the bridge would collapse into the East River.

    An interesting example of the world with no humans was a city in Ukraine. This city was made toxic when Chernobyl blew, and the Commies ran all humans out of the city 21 years ago. Still today nobody is allowed to live there, even though radiation levels are not too bad, today. They showed the soccer stadium, all the wooden bleachers were rotting. A deciduous forest was growing on the field. The trees were 20 or 30 feet high. That really looked eerie. Among the trees were weeds and briers about five feet high. You couldn't even tell it used to be a soccer field.
    Also in this city there were big populations of Russian boars, roaming the streets.

    I kept thinking, "Man that'd be great if I...oh...wait..

    Didn't see it but the local A.M. talk show guy " Garage Logic" was , and was commenting, or poking fun at the fact that----who would care what happens----we wouldn't be here ANYWAYS!

    I'm still convinced with all this junk about how WE are destroying the Earth, that, even if we nuked ourselves into oblivian,1000 or 2000 years from now, I feel that this planet of ours would recover itself, and start over.( without us around) If you have ever seen what happens in the years following a major forest fire--you'll get the picture..... anyways, here's some food for thought, what if this is the 5th or 6th time around for this planet, and we ( or the previous inhabitants) never knew? ( what if this is the 10th or 11th time that The Big Guy upstairs decided that he was sick of what is going on, and just wiped the slate clean to start over again? Just like me wiping away a anthill on the sidewalk...........
