THE SCARIEST SITUATION YOU HAVE EVER BEEN IN
Mine was with my brother when i went on a ride along. I was 17 at the time. It was 2 am on st rt 6 in OHIO. Known for heavy drug transportation. 4 times occupied. He makes the stop for no plate light. My dad was a cop my 2 bros are cops and my grandpa was a cop. never went on a ride along before. He tells me it sucks out here because his only back up is the sheriffs dept and if they are on the other side of the county it could be 25-30 min away..WHat???????pfffff. He tells me if something happens to radio dispatch.. I was chitting...Make a long story short 2 had warrants and there was some weed in the car, just a mist but scared the crap out me. BTY That same brother made his tv debute on "The real miami vice in 2003" and works narcotics to this day. Pretty cool

When I was 23 I got a call on a Friday night from a girl I had broken up with a week earlier. She started the conversation with "I'm pregnant!"
Two buddies were standing there as we were getting ready to go out clubbing and they told me later that they thought someone had died the way the color drained from my face. That was the scariest 10 minutes of my life until she called back and said "No, I'm not."
I had a guy pull a gun on me once. I had a guy threaten me with a knife. I once got bashed in the head from behind by a guy using a club. I once had a bar-fight with three guys jumping on me. I crashed a car at over 120 MPH rolling several times. But that phone call was by far the scariest experience in my life.0 -
I remember one time in my younger days I was being chased and was surrounded by all these women and they were says all these dirty things to me. They started to take off my pants and then I woke- up,,,Boy!! was I scared 0 -

People often wonder when I don't know who it is on a phone call and they ask for me and I respond "Is this about a paternity suit?"
They think I am joking and I am sort of.
When one son called with that "You are my father" speech I answered with;
"So your mother says; never trust a women or a government!"
(That was the line Yellowbeard used on his son) Hey, how many chances does one get to actually use that joke for real????

Slideing down a steep road in an ice storm.I was tring to get home that evening and i went up the hill ok when I went over the top, ice all over the other side.I slid all the way down sideways toward a big tree at the bottom .I had no contol of anything.Weird right at the bottom,the wheels of the truck connected.I hit the brakes and stopped inches from the tree.My a$$ has been tighter ever since[:D] 0 -
Your right FCD, thats how it was with me too. When my ex called me to tell me what happend, I was calm about it. Told her to call the police the next day at 2 and tell them what happened. Me and a friend drove to the town he and she lived in, stopped at another friends house and got a couple road flares, and tracked him down. It was easy, because he was a huge dirtbike person, and he always rode at the same time, same place. Found him right where I expected, on his bike. I stepped out behind a tree as he rode past me, and hit him in the chest with that bat. I remember I was so calm when I did that, like I wasn't doing anything out of the ordinary. He flew off his bike, hit the ground, and got up and went after my friend who was with me. I hit him again in the stomach, then in the lower back when he went down again. At that point I grabbed him by the shirt, dragged him away from the bike, layed him on the ground. Grabbed a road flare, set it off, and stuck it in the gas tank of the bike. Went back over, got to him just as the gas caught. Told him if he EVER tried anything like that with my ex again, I would burn his life and everyone in it. Got in my car, pulled out right as the cops came rolling up. Got halfway home, and everything hit me at once. Had to pull over and let my friend drive the rest of the way home. 0 -

I can't touch the ones that have shared, "when I learned about my wife's breast cancer....." I can't imagine. While I know "most" survive these days, that's still a journey I don't want to make.
My personal scariest moment, while swinging at anchor on the USS Saratoga in Singapore in 1972, off line from the Tonkin Gulf bombing for 45 days, we have half the crew on shore leave and half on board, taking on fuel from a barge and we have a massive main engine room fire. I worked in the missile division and the fire was one bulkhead away from lots of magazines containing explosives. We fought that fire for 9 hours and when contained, we had lost 5 men (1 tech rep and 4 sailors).
Not only did the fire put the fear of God in you, but while trying to stay focused on fire fighting duties expecting bombs and missiles to start exploding any time........ not fun day.0 -
SCARIEST moment in my life was when I was told after my wife's ultrasound that my son Gio was going to be a quadriplegic. He has Arthrogryposis.
The second most scary moment in my life was when one of my customers blew his head off with a 12 Ga. right in front of me as I walked up to deliver the mail

Firefights in Vietnam always scared the hell out of me.
#2 when a lady turned in front of me while I was riding my motor. I woke up on the sidewalk with my left femur sticking out of my leg.0 -
One night on patrol, I was acting as secondary unit on a traffic stop. As my partner approached the driver side window, I came up on the passenger's side. As I got closer, I observed a pistol, holstered and attached to the drivers seat. I yelled to my partner, "GUN, GUN" and the idiot began to reach for it. I had already drawn my Glock .40 and was taking aim at the driver's head when he took the gun from the holster and began to turn towards my partner. I was screaming drop the gun, drop the gun, I'll f&*^%ng kill you and I had began pulling the trigger. I had reached the trigger's "break point" when I saw my partner directly in my line of fire. By the grace of GOD, the driver finally saw me and threw the gun down. Turned out it was an air-soft pellet gun that looked identical to a Kel-Tec 9mm. After all was said and done, I realized just how close I came to killing this idiot, and possibly catching my partner in a cross-fire. I was shaking and due to the adrenaline dump, began puking. Turns out the guy was wanted out of Dekalb County Georgia on felony warrants. It's o.k to be scared, but to be afraid is not. Being afraid prevents you from doing what you have to do.
For those of you who have lost children or spouses, this doesn't compare to your pain, for that I am truly sorry.0
