I got one for my birthday last week. Love it! Kids do too, when I let them on it. [:I] Read an article last week on Yahoo that hospitals are buying them to use in P/T and rehab. Mentioned that Walter Reed Hospital had several for that purpose. As far as cheap, I've only seen them for one price - $249.99. And they are still selling out about as quick as the box stores get them in. 0 -

You WONT find any in stores, or anywhere else for less than 300-350.00 unless you check in pawnshops DAILY.

Jacob....if you are in Wal-Mart at the right time, you WILL find them there for $249.99. We have two super wally worlds here, they both get in app. 10 per week. They sell out that same day. Shipment usually arrives on Wednesday. Ask the manager at your local store what day they usually get a shipment in and be there first thing that morning. 0 -

My fiance wants a Wii after playing that Guitar Hero at her sisters-I told her we already have a Playstation 2 and can just get that game for it.---for any of you who have a PS2 or Xbox if you are a fan of westerns ya gotta get a copy of Gun--that is a fun game with pretty realistic guns to use--there is also Red Dead Revolver but that game is a little more campy. 0 -

Think smaller. Look at the small vidoe game stores in the mall. They sell for the same flat price as wally and bestbuy, but no one ever thinks of buying the console from these small shops.0 -

I got lucky at toys r us about a year ago and they happened to have one. My family bought one for my little brother for christmas this year, I showed up at kmart one hour and 15 minutes before opening, it was 10 below of course, and i was number 11 in line, 17 units available. After taxes it cost around 274, you may want to buy an extra controller @ 40 dollars, if you buy the game wii play at 50 dollars you get a controller with it. Its worth it. Best games for the system are zelda ~40, mario galaxy~50, and guitar hero 90. You do get wii sports bundled with the system, which is excellent. You won't need another game for it for a while, except maybe wii play. Then you can play two player tennis and boxing. Excellent system, gets the whole family involved. My 70 year old uncle was playing the bowling game on the wii sports game and was having a blast. You can't go wrong. When the flyers for the stores come out show up the next day 30 minutes early and you'll get one for sure. 0 -
I think i'll wait another 6-10 months, and see if they come down in price any.Should be a bit easier to find in the stores by then as well. 0 -
I have one, we have 10 games(COD 3, Mario Party, Guitar Hero 3, etc) for it plus the sports pak.
It's really a blast, a ton of fun and some games are a real workout.0 -

That's what folks said a year ago. [:)] I think it's all part of the marketing strategy. Don't quite supply enough units to meet the demand creating hype and an ever increasing demand. If you want one make the effort to buy it now and enjoy it before something bigger and better comes along.0 -
Just look at the advertisements in the sunday paper first thing sunday morning. Most of the chain stores (Target, K-mart, Toys R Us, Best Buy) will not sell any new ones that come in before Sunday if they are on sale that week. If they are advertised, they will be available on Sunday, first come first served. I got our Wii last April when I saw it in BB's Sunday ad. I went in about an hour before opening time and was about 6th in line. After about 10 minutes, a store empoyee came out and gave each of us a piece of paper with a number on it, and said they had 14 to sell that day. I went to Panera and had a cup of coffee and a bagle, then went back and claimed mine.
It is a fun video system - bowling, golf, tennis, etc. We got my son Guitar Hero III for Christmas, and he loves it. I'm hearing that a lot of retirement homes have Wii systems, which the seniors even like because it is so intuitive and fun. And it gets them up and active. It's the first game system I've played in years.0 -

Me and the wife love ours and we are in our 40's. I love the tennis and the bowling. My son got me resident evil 4 for christmas and I have already played through it and started it again. I like the Wii better than any of the other systems i have played on.

So what do I need when I buy one oof these to get started and play ? We need a set up for two people ..The ones on Ebay come with all kinds of different stuff. Im confused .....[:0] 0 -
Got one for the kid. I think they are incredible, and the boxing actually gave me a work out!
Put it on a TV with plenty of SPACE around unless you want to crater the TV and all the lamps in the room...0 -

Just buy the basic Wii console about $260.00. It will come with one remote and one set of games called Wii Sports - bowling, baseball, golf etc. Then recommend you buy the Wii Play package about $50.00 which gives you a second remote and another set of games - pool, badminton, cow racing etc. That will keep you entertained for quite a while. And from there you will learn of additional games and accessories which you can acquire when & if you choose.
