moving from one state to another

If someone moves from South Daktoa to New York or any other state can you transport your shotguns and rifles or do you have to do like the handguns and ship to a dealer.

    Give me a couple minutes,, I have all that infor printed out from BATF..

    Q: May a person who is relocating out of state move firearms with other houshold goods..

    A: Yes A person who lawfully possesses a firearm may transport or ship the firearm interstate when changing his place of residence..

    There may however be state or municipal restrictions on what you can possess, and some states/municipalities require they be registered.

    I would not move there.
