I.D. cards to prove your a citizen

I am always opposed to government intrusion but personally I dont see how these cards could be so bad. Maybe I havent thought it through enough but what do you see as being problems with the ID cards ? 0 -

I need more information on what the cards will be about. I heard they won't have microchips or anything. The only difference I can tell is they will be harder to fake and your picture will be taken before you get the ID instead of after. What is so different from this from what we do now?

I believe this is a part of the "voter fraud" schtick (among other nefarious goings on in the annals of power) at least it is sold as a solution to a non-existent problem, there have been more cases of election fraud than voter fraud, incidentaly, the passport is a document that is accepted across the globe, would that not make it a "global ID" not an "national ID"

I have a passport, a driver's license, a military ID card, and HAD an ID to enter secure areas at work. All picture IDs and all renewed periodically (except the passport.)
So they want me to have a national one? BFD.

For you guys who have not been overseas........ The bus gets stoped at random check points and you all get off. ID check.
Driving home more then 15 miles you get checked 5 times,and asked where you've been & where your going. Yeah it's not so bad if'n you want NO freedom.
The goverment can and will reach out and find you any time they want you.0 -

i should also clarify my prev post, my meaning was that the premise of voter fraud was one of the predicates to the passage of this legislation hr418
i think 17 states are opposed outright to it, and some have passed legislation of non-compliance due to grassroots efforts in the individual states0 -

Dont think for a minute that an "ID" cannot be duplicated.. There is nothing that todays technology cannot reproduce.. Take a look at our new money, The chinese counterfieted it before it was even released and dumped millions on the market that was virtually perfect.
There was already an ID card in place, called the Drivers License. but the powers that be ignored the process and just gave them to anybody..
Sad to say the influx of Illegals can not and will not be stopped by a little card. As log as the Cubans, Haitians, mexicans, Germans, Italians, English want to come here they will figure a way..[:(]0 -

I have a thought about the REAL ID drivers license, they are saying it will be mandatory to have to board an aircraft.
So how's a blind man going to get a REAL ID drivers license?[:p]
Also why should citizens be forced to get them when the FED's let 20+million people illegally into the country?
