DALLAS, N.C. - Investigators say a man has been charged with child abuse in Caldwell County for circumcising his two infant sons with a utility knife.
Authorities said 32-year-old Johnny Eric Marlowe fathered children with his legal wife and another woman who live in their home. One gave birth to a boy at their home in the rural Kings Creek community in November 2005, and the other gave birth to a boy there four months later.
Caldwell County Sheriff's Detective Shelly Hartley said Marlowe denied the women prenatal care in both cases and circumcised the boys when they were 8 days old.
Marlowe later moved to Gaston County and is serving a 150-day jail sentence there on charges of resisting a public officer, assault on a female and multiple counts of child neglect.
Marlowe had a total of 11 children with the two women.0 -

I'm quite certain that this is how it was handled for thousands of years...it would seem that he could claim religious beliefs on this one. 0 -
Maybe ECC but remember Muslim's claim their actions in the name of religion too.....don't make it right. Unfortunately there are many who name the name of religion, even those who use the very name of Jesus to justify their dastardly deeds, (i.e. bombing abortion clinics, etc) but they certainly don't represent the reality and truth of God and His Word. Being religious proves nothing in justifying actions or deeds, being truthful and Christlike won't let you do stuff you dream up to do and call it right.
Certainly don't mean to accuse you of justifying this evil man's deeds, just offering a comment on yours about being able to "claim religious beliefs" to defend himself on this evil stuff.

I'd like to get more info before judging this man. A circumcision is a very simple procedure. There is more to this than meets the eye. Odd behavior maybe; but not dangerous in the least.
We all have dug big splinters out of our kids and cut out hang nails. What is the big deal in this case?0 -
accidents happen all over the world during this process too, and i myself would rather leave such a delicate procedure to a experienced professional, one who has anesthesia that we cannot provide

allot different than removing a splinter, i have 3 places on my body that has homemade stitches 2 i did 1 grandma did, but cutting off living tissue is a bit different0 -
