Any way to block 1 800 numbers

att I tried to do it on line and then the screen said you couldn't block them, tried to do it manually and it doesn't block it. I've told them the person they are looking for hasn't lived here for over 5 years and they still keep calling. HELP I don't think NO Call work on a credit company or who ever these idiots are. ATT is not much help they just read you how to do it and nothing happens

    That used to drive me crazy, also. Then I started screening ALL my calls with my answering machine. I simply would'nt call anyone back whose number or name I couldn't identify.

    It took about 9 months, and the unwanted callers, quit calling.

    I find that I really like that method.

    if its human not comp. ask for the addr. adn then tell them your sending a cert. letter telling them to stop calling and if they do not you will file harassment charges on them,
    its worked for me before

    Good advice but you do not need to send a letter. Tell them not to call again, if they do, contact the FTC and lodge a complaint. You can get cash for it very easily.

    Also try the telezapper. Telemarkers LIE. These DO work! After about a month of it, we get 0 calls anymore.

    have fun with them. had this younger gal calling all the time trying to get ahold of my brother inlaw. he owed some money to alot of those check cashing places and was really far behind on car payment. told her and the others several times that he was just saying with us for a couple of months and that he moved out last month. they just kept asking why i was covering for them. so from that point on every time she would call i would just start having a rather adult conversation with her. only took 2 or 3 more calls and they quit from her. had to come up with other ways to bother the male callers but it doesnt take long before you can come up with some fun and interesting ways to bother people that call.

    I've had to call the state Attorney General with the complaint. They have an office just for that. Nothing speaks louder in my experience.

    I first tell then the call is being recorded. Then I ask for their name and employee number. Then I ask the name of their supervisor, and tell them I am on the "Do Not Call" list and ask how they will being paying the $10,000.00 fine by company check or a certified check?

    I rarely get any return calls.

    slipgate is right, if the calls are made by computer, get a telezapper. They work great, I have one.
