If every American, from pulper to billionaire, would hand over 90% of their net worth we as a nation would be out of debt. The $440,000 per household only covers our over obligation to Social Security, Medicare, and Prescription coverage. There is no way that we can be taxed out of this mess.

With that, perhaps we better understand why the President does the things that he does. (ie NAFTA) It will be the same of course for the next one.

Have you noticed OBL has not made the news in 4 months or so? Funny we can find a guy with 20 over due parking tickets and send him to jail for life. But OBL in not even on the radar screen? What gives?

Even if we all got together and paid it off the govt. would just get us back in debt.

McCain will do as he is told. Lest our little yellow friends, and all other foreign creditors, call in those notes. Faced with this choice, the POTUS is quite powerless after all.

They are closing in. In one fashion or another. Most likely it's the NAU. Why else would the U.N. be so damned concerned about our sovereign gun rights?

The NAU will be established in order, in part, to replace the completely devalued dollar with the new Amero. Look how well it's worked in Europe. Natural resources in Canada, and labor from Mexico. Central Government and technology from the U.S. Only thing standing in the way is all the gun owners right in the middle. Our economy is not ours anymore. We are now an owned nation.

Heres an article about Mexico's new shipping port. Looks like we're becoming one big happy family.

Americas debt as a percentage of GDP is extremely small. Some of you experts arent very smart but here is an analogy......Person A makes $150,000 a year but he owes $5,000 in credit card debt. Person B makes $50,000 a year and he also owes $5,000 in credit card debt. America is Person A. However, since Americas debt is only 3% of our GDP then that would mean on $150,000 we are only in debt $4,500. Not a big deal. Not a big deal at all.

It's a nice thought Wolf, but if on his third day after taking office, he is told by the World Bank that he will do this or that or face a mass note due call, what do we think that he'll do? Completely bankrupt our economy and put every American in the soup line, or do as he is told? Like I said before, I suspect that the POTUS doesn't have as much control as we would like to think.

    I have a silly question.

What if they DID call in a note or ALL notes. If we can't pay, what CAN they do? Short of starting a war, what are they going to do, repo YOUR home?

Sure, I am aware that the dollar becomes worthless. OK. What really can these manipulative azzhats do?

the world depends on the united states to do everything, we are the world cops, we hold Russia back, china back, and all the other countries that should decide to start the world on the path of destruction.
first of all they must overcome the might and power of this country. we are in the shape were in mostly because of what we do for the rest of the world if we started looking in instead of out all the time we would not be in the kind of situation we are.

If stupidity was a criminal offense, your sentence would be the death penalty 3 times! Excuse me if I don't take advice from a teenage punk.

Here's the numbers for you Einstein...
    GDP (nominal) 2007 estimate
    - Total $13.770 trillion[4] (1st)
    - Per capita $44,190
The United States public debt, commonly called the national debt, gross federal debt or U.S. government debt, is the amount of money owed by the United States federal government to creditors who hold U.S. Debt Instruments. As of December 19, 2007, the total U.S. federal debt held by the public was roughly $5 trillion.[1]

This does not include the money owed by states, corporations, or individuals, nor does it include the money owed to Social Security beneficiaries in the future. If intragovernment debt obligations are included, the debt figure rises to roughly $9 trillion.[2] If unfunded Medicaid, Social Security, etc. promises are added, this figure rises dramatically to a total of $59.1 trillion.[3] In 2005 the public debt was 64.7% of GDP According to the CIA's World Factbook , this meant that the U.S. public debt was the 35th largest in the world by percentage of GDP.

CR, you need to wait about 20 more years before you offer up an opinion on anything political in nature. Aren't you tired of going around with your pants down ALL THE TIME? Oh, I forgot, that's the "style" with punks right now, huh?
