Ammo sales in garage sale

Raining, turning colder and bored to tears but having to do that "honey do" thing this weekend with a garage sale. The only reason I'm willing is so I can get my SHOP back from the storage facility it has been until we could have a garage sale and move some duplicate items.

Enough of my woes, can someone tell me, any problems, issues with selling ammo in a garage sale?? I really don't know the laws on this type of stuff and just don't see a problem but want to make sure.....

dumb question but need your advice.

    Still see guns and ammo at garage sales here in Iowa. Never thought much if it'd be against the law or not.

    There are no laws regarding a private person selling ammo as long as other laws ar obeyed. Here in CA that would mean that the customer would need to be 18 or older and you cannot sell past 10:00 PM.

    I'm looking for some 6.5mm pistol ammo stuff must be scarce as hens teeth nobody in my area stock it.

    No Federal law against it other than age requirement for handgun ammo. However some states may have laws that prohibit it.

    I'd hang on to it if it were me. ammo is getting expensive!

    No problem here in florida as far as factory ammo.. I wouldnt recommend selling reloaded ammo without the proper manufacturers license just because of the liability factor..

    There is a guy here that is making shot and selling it and also reloading shot gun shells and selling them comercially without a manufacturers license and he is under investigation. Could be big trouble..They wouldnt say anything about an occasional box but this guy doest it by the thousands of boxes a year.

    I have bought and sold "factory" ammo at garage sales, but NOT reloads. (liability issues)
    No law against it here, your state/city laws may vary.

    No issues with it here in Indiana, at least not to judge by the amount of basically anything you want at flea markets and garage sales. And you DON'T want to ask if an FFL or other license is required when you go to buy -- the boys behind the tables don't much like that. Haggle out your best price, pay, and Godspeed.

    Just want to say thanks guys, I appreciate the info and feedback. I would keep the ammo but it's ammo I don't have a gun for any longer so I'm trying to turn this old ammo into cash to buy some I need.

    Don't expect to get retail prices.
    Do expect to be asked "will you take half of what it's marked?"
    It's a yard sale fer chrisakes!

    i buy 90 percent of my caseings and loaded ammo at yard sales and flea markets, my lateist buy was 98 new unprimed 6.5x54 ms and 99 338 win. mag unprimed cases. 20.00 for all, hell i don,t even have any rifles in them calibures. eastbank

    I agree with the others where the law is concerned, ther should be no problem.

    However I worry for you my friend when it comes to showing ammo or gun parts or guns at or around your home.
    Normally I would say absolutely do NOT do it.
    So many of the lookie loos that come to garage sales are casing your home anyway and this always seemed to me a neon sign proclaiming that "YOU HAVE GUNS HERE". A real good way to lose them.

    I would not do it for this reason.

    Still getting good advice..... let me tell you how it ended. A friend of mine that dropped by still shoots .38 so I made him a deal and helped me out at the same time.

    Oh yea, Uncle Fudd, I didn't have them on display, per se, just in a box under the work bench for the right moment. However you point is well taken and should be by others.

    Side note: I have my silhouette target from my CHL qualifying shoot hung in my "shop" with the middle blown out and the scoring written in red at the top..... 249/250...... funny how a few visitors saw that and made comments about "this guy is a good shot, better think twice about comin' in here.." Not exactly what I was looking for but just a reminder to shoot for the big spot and keep shooting.....
