Buy Now Auctions ?

I was watching this auction out of curiosity. Auction #88923407 The Liberator went for $223.00 more than the buy now price. Why didn't one bidders use the "buy now"? Thanks

  Some people have more money than brains would be logical, im not going to see if there was any catches, but thats a good answer

  If theres a reserve,once met,the buy now option goes away.

  I had to go back and check I thought I wasn't be switched over to the new auction. I'm not sure how that answers the question.

  Reserve was $1,600. The "Buy it now" disappeared once that bid was hit. I'm sure the seller was pleased.
