The older I get, the more I find it is better to make eveery reasonable attempt to work with others. After college I worked for a company that desired an "aggressive" work ethic. The work environment was mostly people looking to have pissing contests with anyone they could find to try to prove something.
I still work with people that take this attitude. Guess they think it is a good leadership attribute, but taking a position where I try to work with everyone has worked well for me. It's better to be peacemaker than stir up crap.
No, I'm not suggestion to bend over and take whatever is given. Walking away from stupid meaningless battles or mediating solutions rather than taking sides has worked better in the long run.0 -
