STILL OUCHES A LITTLE
Wed. I was tinkering around in the garage and ran a flat screw driver completly through my finger. Must be a lot of nerves in the finger because it sure ouched! Bled like a stuck pig. I had soaked two paper towels when my wife saw me heading to the bath room with the blood soaked towels and asked, "DID YOU HURT YOUR SELF" [?] [:(!]. I said, "No i was play with the ketchup and it exploded" She's stilled pissed.

i was making an aerator for my trout farm once out of pvc, i drove a drill bit in a dremel to through my finger, i know the feeling except the high speed of the dremel tool seared it shut, still hurt like hell but didn't bleed much 0 -

see a dr..in other words go to the emerg...you are going to need a tetnus shot just for starters, not to mention there could be damage to nerves and blood vessels....0 -

You wouldn't know good medical care if it hit you in the nose! Kerosene has worked for many, many years. It will disinfect the wound and take the soreness out...if you weren't such a darn city boy, you might know the difference!0 -

The nerves in your fingers run up the sides, if thats where you went through expect some numbness...
Keep it clean, make sure you wash it out good, use peroxide & antibiotic like bacitracin.
See a doctor in the morning.....

City boy!!!? Eric, I grew up on a ranch near Jordan Valley, Oregon(500 Pop.) 40 miles from the little town of Jordon Valley. Yeah I know that kerosene can combat infection but it stings like hell on an open wound. I've doctored sick cows, and got a shot or two of cow penicillin in my butt when I was sick. It was too far to go to Boise or Nampa. I've been horseback in the Owyhee mountains and the desert for years. I also rode bareback horses in pro rodeo for 4 years and can prove all this.

In the meat market I worked in many years ago, a bad cut was packed in salt. Yep, I have salted down a couple of mine. I think this was before there was an OSHA.

I don't think it stings at all...and it will take the soreness out. I shot a 3.5" Ring Shank Nail through my thumb on the job one day...my thumb looked like a cross. I pulled the nail out and an old timer on the job convinced me to soak it in Kerosene...I didn't try it until later that night when it started to get real sore. I ended up soaking it and it did take the soreness out.
