Flooding update
Many of my friends live on the river's (Tippecanoe and Wabash) in the area. Areas up north got as much as 10" of rain earlier this week. Water levels reached an all time high. We have two lakes 45min north of here; Lake Shafer and Freeman. The damns for both lakes have been severely stressed and almost flooded over. One particular dam was letting out over 31,000 Cubic feet/Second to the river below. 6,000 more than the previous record. Needless to say the rivers could not handle it.
We still have no idea how many people have lost their homes, many of which were mobile homes (seems there are quite a few mobile home parks on the river). A few people are still missing.
It was warm the past few days. Yesterday it never broke 40 degrees and it is supposed to be getting back to our normal (teens and single digits) temperatures. That would pose a huge problem to rescuers and those trying to get their homes taken care of.
I have a dozen or so pictures. It's very bad. When I get home I will get a chance to post them up.
Edit: 3 People have died. A 29 year old woman was washed out in her vehicle and was able to grab her 7yr old son, but not her 5 and 2 year olds. A 59yr old man was headed to work and was washed out and drowned.

thats some bad news cub, i hope that everyone gets over it ok....i`ll keep a look out for the pictures...its bad enough to get flooded out but to get everything freezing over as well must make it 100 times worse....my sympathy goes out to them. 0
