Downgraded from 4x4 to 4x2!
My Chevy 4x4 is now only 2wd! Finally took the time to replace the bad u joints in the front driveshaft, and when installing the new ones the needle bearings fell down against the cap and got smashed when I drove the assembly back together. Didn't take long to figure out why the cap wouldn't seat. Luckily, it is 65 F today in IL, last Monday it was a high of 15 F and a low of Zero F! I had waited over a month to tear into this, we have had so much winter weather I could not afford to not have the 4x4 working, driving 25 miles each way to work. So I left the driveshaft out and tomorrow I will go back to the parts store and get another new u joint (lifetime warranty parts are great!) and try again.
