Am I The Only One Sick Of...

stories on the news where they mention that "guns and ammunition were recovered from the house or car" when a gun has NOTHING to do with the story and the news never bothers to mention whether the guns were legal or not ?
Last night there was a news story about a local politican accused of taking a kickback from a towing company. When the police raided his house they "recovered two guns and ammunition". What the hell does that have to do with anything ? And why would they even TAKE the guns in the first place ?

    Yes. Just like if they invaded here. They'd likely find several
    black guns, and would make a pretty picture for the news. It would
    matter not that the only reason they're here is that i like to look at
    black guns.[:)]

    Watched a story on the news a couple of years ago where a house cought on fire and one of the firefighters saw a gun inside. They put the fire out and the cops came and gathered about fifteen firearms out of the house and laid them on a table out front of the house(of course all the neighbors were watching). The reporter stated that the cops were making sure they were legal (they were) and showed plenty of video of them and even said the block and street they were on. I guess everyone needed to know where the guns were.

    I saw a news clip a couple weeks ago, a woman tried to walk into a courthouse with a gun in her purse, they just felt the need to mention the safety was off....

    That and announcing how many "rounds of ammo" were on hand. To me thats kind of like picking up a drunk driver and stating he had over 1000 oz of beer in his vehicle cause it sounds worse than saying he had 3 cases.

    its just the media doing what they have been ordered to do, twist every story where a firearm is present to make sure it is viewed in a negative light.i will guarantee you that if you know a newspaper etc. that is pro gun or at worst neutral with their news and stories about guns and it gets bought out by one of the major players you will suddenly see the stories getting an anti gun feel to the stories and editorials!same as happens here...the local paper where i live has stated publicly that it will never under any circumstances publish any pro gun story...thats why i dont buy it.
