    I work fo r USPS so yes I have today off, the down side is the temp is not going above 10 degrees.

    Not to start a racial thing because I am in no way racist!

    But I do not feel that it should be a holiday for anyone!

    Yes MLK Jr. was a strong supporter for equal rights and all, but it is not like he did things more great than some others in our history!

    I honestly believe that there are more deserving people in our countries history to have a holiday after than MLK Kr.!

    No ,but I`m taking it off anyway. I was on my way to work this morning when a deer ran in front of me.I`m ok,but the deer and my little Mazda truck didn`t fare so well.

    Every day is a holiday for me (retired). My wife, who is a paralegal, will be working 10 - 12 hours preparing for a trial.

    I get holiday pay for the day but don't get the day off. What ticks me off about it is they took away our floating holiday and stuck us with MLK day but we will never get the day off. I would rather have the time off than the extra pay.

    Every day is a holiday for me. I eat what I want, I go wherever I want and stay as long as I want. I need no consensus or government to declare it a holiday.

    MLK day is a city holiday, but we had to give up Presidents' Day, formerly George Washingon's birthday, to get it. I am off because it is my regular day off, so I get to put a holiday in the bank to use later, or be paid double time for being off. I told them to just pay me.

    What irritates me is you can ask a lot of grade school age kids and they can't tell you much about our Founding Father's but they sure know all about MLK. Another problem I see is that the current civil rights leader's have completely abandoned MLK's original message and intent. Our local paper does a weeks worth of stories about civil rights, MLK, and the plight of the blacks but doesn't mention President's Day. I guess it's the P.C. thing to do.

    well apparently it is if your African American, most of them didn't show up for work today in protest/celebration, and i quote "i dare anyone to say anything", at least the company doesn't have to pay them

    I had the day off....but went in for three hours as I can get a ton of work done when the phone is not ringing and others checking in for direction etc.

    Stopped off and shot my Ruger Single-Six and watched some deer feed.
