figured i would have a giveaway. updated again

dont know what i'm giving away yet. just depends on how much it cost me to find out cal. on my new gun.could be a scope or maybe that 22 pistol i have sitting in the safe that i dont use. now here is the story. i bought a custom mauser last week. guy told me he though it was a 22-250 but wasnt sure. the barrel is a heavy barrel 22 cal. i tried to insert a 22-250 round and it started to bind about 3/4 or 2/3 of the way in so i know its not a 22-250
now to enter the giveaway you have to guess the cal. of this gun. i will be taking it to the gunsmith of friday so i will draw a winner when i get the results. if more then one person gets the cal. right i will put all the winners in a hat and draw from there.

i should included the the bolt extracts the 22-250 shell just wont feed all the way into the chamber.


well its not a 220 swift. but close. the 220 swift binds with about 1/8 of the case left. gunsmith is going to cast the chamber but doesnt have time to do for two weeks. is it hard to cast a chamber. whats there all to it. or am i just better off waiting for him to do it. he's going to charge me 40.00

    Well, you get some cerrosafe, plug the barrel just in front of the chamber, melt & pour in the stuff. After it cools and you get it out, you have a cast of the chamber to mike.

    $40.00 seems reasonable, but two weeks don't.

    actually it can be very simple and inexpensive to cast the chamber block the barrell below the chamber you can use toilet paper, just stuff it in spray a very short spray of pam a little goes a long way. heat and pour in wax. add a straw to the wax to act as a handle to grip. After it hardens (overnight)you should be able to remove the wax by pulling if you cant spray it with something to shrink the wax I use butane. if it still doesn't come out try pushing using a dowel from the front of the barrell, the toilet paper will act as a buffer to keep the bullet from deforming to badly.

    ya why not i have got the kit in to do the chamber cast. i might just do what others said and use wax but i still have to wait for my caliper to get here. ordered it for reloading but i guess i will get anouther use out of it. should know by this weekend so if anyone else wants to change feel free to do so.
