M1 Carbines - Value Increase

Real WWII GI carbine values are going through the roof. I was in Sportsmans' Five (sporting goods store in Southern Utah)and they had a very USED and ABUSED M1 Carbine for $1,000. It looke like it had barely survived a mine field - almost what I would call a junker. Have values gone up that much?

  CMP wants $495 for them. They look pretty bad too. I wouldn't give that much for five of them. They are about worthless in the first place.

  Yes, the market is big for original USGI ww2 carbines, especially if they missed the postwar arsenal rebuild. BIG BUCKS!!
