I finally received the two that I ordered about three weeks ago. Man they sure can throw a beam.

    Wow! These things are BRIGHT! 500+ lumens! A co-worker just got a batch from China and I have never seen anything that bright, and it is LED.

    They might be cheaper than Surefire, but I bet they don't stand behind their products like Surefire does. When they say lifetime guarantee, they mean it.

    I have a stream-light tactical which is very bright - 100+ lumens, but it is still a traditional bulb (krypton?) so battery life is relatively low. These are the same size as the streamlight, brighter, and LED. I need to check but does streamlight/Surefire have an LED offering?

    They are now putting LED lights into moore's law. They will double in brightness every 18 months.

    Yes indeed Surefire does have LED lights. They get really hot.

    I am still curious which of those your friend got, none gives lumen ratings on that page that I can see, so it is hard to figure what he got.



    I just got a couple of Surefires. Went to register them for warrenty, entered the number and got a message the number is not recognized (They came from Cabela's and are not counterfeit). I e-mailed Surefire twice and never got a reply. As far as I am concerned Surefire's Customer service SUX. They seem overpriced, but time will tell if they are worth the $$.

    I don't think you actually have to register them. The way I understand it, if its a genuine Surefire product, they will repair or replace it if any part of it ever quits working. My brother had one with the plastic lens and he left in on in his pocket and the lens melted. He called Surefire and they just sent him a new lens, no questions asked.

    Came with a registration card and registration number and instructions to register it on-line, then said the numbers were not recognized. There was also a flshlight give away associated with the registration.

    I got an Inova T4, incredible tool. LED + emissive ion lithium cell. Probably the last one I'll ever need.

    I'll ask him the model tomorrow. I know it took 1 AA or 1 3v lithium. And when using the smaller 3v battery, you removed the center cylinder. It was a single LED and I am still seeing spots from glancing at the light. He paid around $23.00.

    I have at least 6 Surefire flash lights from the cheep G2 series up to weapon mounted lights and they are all top notch. I have delt with their customer service a couple of times and been very impressed. I have never paid for anything other then replacement batteries. I had one that I dropped in my basement of my own fault. It ended up cracking the glass lens and banging up the bezel. This is a one piece unit. I called to see how much it would cost to replace. They would not take my money and sent a new one out.

    Thanks for persuing it Slipgate! Looks like a clone of the Surefire 6P Defender, using different batteries. Hard to believe it is more than 65 lumens though. It is not clear where Surefire electronics are made. May be China as well.
