Bose Speakers

Lack a little thing called "Bass"

Put a air of Bose 101 Speakers on the wall in the basement and wired them to the reciever upstairs. Mrs. Plaid hates them. No bass. I said "Well, that's Boses".

No, I told her we're not getting a subwolfer.

I think it sound better with country music with little bass.

    what would you expect from the absolute bottom line,{those are book shelf speakers} i have a pair of 802's that rock, and a pair of 302's for rear surrounds,but i also have a set of 4 15's 2 compression horns 4 tweeters to crank up powered by onkyo amplifiers when i want to pizz off the neighborhood

    i also have a pair of bose companions on my computer that are impressive for computer speakers

    Can't you turn the bass off if you don't want it? That way she gets what she wants part of the time....and you get what you want part of the time.

    Yeah, when we first were married, we would get in that arguement over the car radio. I relented on the bass and she learned to listen to country music.

    Ha. Well I did buy them at Sam's 12 years ago. I don't think they sell them anymore.

    That's why I like Polk, Klipch, Infinity, and Boston Acoustic.

    That said, I have Electrovoice 12" Floor speakers in front, JBL 6's in rear, a Bose, VCS Center speaker, and a Yamaha Dual 8" Powered sub. Very pleased and the entire neighborhood knows when we're having a party.[:)]

    Dad has ALL Infinity Gold in this Theater, amazing sound.

    Got no highs, got no lows, gotta be Bose! I can't stand Bose, absolute worst, most poorly designed, lowest quality and sorriest sound quality (less accurate than a davis or jennings .25) pieces of garbage ever made. Great marketing tho. That's all they have. 25 years in pro/high end theater industry and have never heard a Bose that was worth a nickel. My .02

    I bought some Klipch for my parents.....I actually traded a Benelli shotgun for them. Guess what my dad did with them. He stuck them in the garage and plans to hook them up......sometime.

    bose are not considered high end, now mcintosh is another story {no not the pc}

    I don't have any Bose and have no real experience with them.

    I do however find there commercial for the little tiny Bose radio, the one that is like 5 inches tall, is ludicrous. 2 3" speakers cannot perform the same as a surround sound setup as their commercials suggest.

    To me it is a hype company. They advertise heavily and get brand recognition.



    For me it is all Infinity Primus. Fair price for a fair speaker. When I turn my system up, a neighbor over 1/4 mile away has heard it. Just wait till I get the rest of the speakers later this fall.

    I have a Bose sterio speaker setup with Onkyo components, Paradigm surround sound and a 55 inch Midsubishi Hi Def TV. and Direct Dish with over 200 channels.[8D]

    In my car is a CD/DVD/TV/Radio head unit with an Infinity six speaker system and one 12" woofer in the trunk.

    JBL, Klipsch, Infinity, Boston Acoustics...

    Bose are the fingerhut of speakers, really bottom of the line but it feels so good because of the commercial, kinda like dell DUDE I GOT BOSE!

    Maybe their quality has gone downhill lately, but I have a pair with subwoofer that still kick out some serious jams I must have gotten 25 years ago!
    They are the smaller pair with a small bass box that are the model before they were turned into swiveling cubes and got real tinny. Just found the label; they're Acoustimass 3s, and they've served me better than the plasma, direct/reflecting, even the JBL Jubals I got when Sony Studios moved out of downtown! They were only like $300 way back when, and I've gone through several other brands trying to find something better than my current setup; these use less power to drive, are crisper and have more clean bottom end than anything else I've tried.
    I always take a known-song reference CD along when I go listen in those acoustically perfect roms, and sometimes the salescrew all wind up in there with me!
    Be sure to use a similar amp to what you have, and there should be no disappointments when you get home!

    They all sound just swell hooked up to my Amplitude Modulation tuner.

    Don't have a sub Woofer but my ols speakers do just fine. Sansui SPX 8700 they only have an 18" Woofer built in. Bought in 79 and still going.

    I always thought Bose were pretty good. They sound very nice to me, but I'll stick with my circa 1995 Sony's.

    Sony. I have two SOny tower speakers. 200w? With a Yamaha reciever. Call me cheap. The living room is 24X26 with a vualted ceiling. The television is in the corner and the couch and chairs are in half the room. We didn't think surround sound would work well for us and the room was swallowing the television speakers.

    So we sent for the Sony speakers made in China.

    The plan always was for another pair in the basement.

    About 8-10 years ago I really got into the home theatre thing in my living room. I started with a Yamaha 5.1 400 watt DSP receiver and a pair of Bose 301's That wasn't enough, so I added a pair of Cerwin Vega tower speakers and a KLH 200 watt floor pig (downward throwing woofer) 2 AIWA center speakers, 2 side mids and 4 rears to get the full theatre effect. It was so awesome it would raise the hairs on your arms and neck during a good movie. Now I rarely even use it!
