Man o Man,I can hardly turn on the News or read the paper without seeing several murdered by Gun,drowning,thrown off something etc.This is happening at an increasingly accelerated rate.Gets my mind to wondering whats next.

Actually the reporting of the crimes is sensationalized by 24 hour news and the ceaseless stream of data available on the net. Murder rates are down. Serious crimes are down and school attacks, albeit most disturbing, are as rare as hens teeth. 0 -

The news media, even my trusted Fox News, seems to report sensational stuff -- not news -- any more. It's all Britney, sex, kids murdering parents, parents drowning kids. The public gets off on supermarket tabloids, and the print and web media has picked up the ball. Pretty darn sad.
Newspapers used to inform you about what was going on in your community. Now they just titillate (I've always loved that word).0 -

Why not? it is the truth; of the MILLIONS of school attendees how many are killed each year? Was anyone in your family shot there??? I would hazard to say you are more likely to get hit by lightning than be killed on campus by a nut with a gun. I am not trying to mitigate the tragedy of the shootings by any means. I am trying to put it into the bigger perspective of life.0 -

Funny, A kid showed up on Campus (Marietta College) a couple days ago with a small arsenal in his trunk and a thousand rounds of ammo. Seems he was just moving the stuff, but the scholl gave him an indefinite suspension.

For what its worth guys, I was talking to an older person today who remembers the stock market crash....he said there were a lot of suicides and killings then and he fears the same thing is happening now....The economy is in big trouble, the country is "in the terlet" (his words), there is really no future...People are scared and angry.....Result is shootings, stabbings, drownings etc... 0 -

read your bible ......if you don't have one then i can't help you......the book of revelation says it all......and it's not the number of crimes so much as the severity of them....i doubt that people were drowning their kids in bathtubs, or stomping on their heads 50, 30, or even just ten yrs. ago......the book of revelation speaks of events that are already occuring....such as the peace talks between palestine and israel....(sounds like a good thing but really isn't)....for when this country turns it's back on israel, the die will be cast....God placed us on this earth as a test....to see if we can be a responsible people, who can show love and compasssion, and raise children w/ good values...how much more of this evil will he permit? people have said on this forum "where was God when that killer stomped on his baby's head?"...."he must have been too busy" they say....when the question should be rather-"how could we let our society erode this badly?" why should we blame God for not saving that baby , when we can't even police ourselves? he kills his baby by stomping on it's head, and it's an insanity defense...how far would the killer get if this were law in the 1880's? he'd have been 6 ft. under already. God put us on this earth to be responsible, loving, caring people...not savages....we are failing the test....he sent his only son Jesus Christ , who was crucified, and died for our sins...and Jesus will return again....we are not supposed to know exactly when....but i think it will be soon....i give us maybe 4 more years...i think we will see the end-times in our lifetime...the year 2012 comes to mind...... 0 -
According to the bible Jesus was supposed to return within the life time of some of the people he was around.. Look at what is shown on regular TV..I can't let my kids watch some of the shows that are on now..murder, rape, stealing and so on...we have let our morals go and I believe were on the downhill slide[:(]0 -
It is the liberal media trying to ensure that a Dem gets the whitehouse. Once that happens hello gun registration to the law abiding. How many people died today in car crashes.... nobody wants to ban cars.... people died when a sugar factory exploded yet there is no cry for the banning of sugar. Just convenient to blame guns for killing.... not people with serious mental health issues. I honestly do not pay much attention to these reports anymore, and if more people would do the same then the media would let it drop. For some reasons shooting bring in big ratings.... and the people who commit the crimes know they will be national media stars. 0
