Williams FP-sight install question

So, I mounted the Williams FP-94/36 receiver sight in the two back holes left to the receiver. Now my question is, do I need to remove the factory rear sight and with the factory front sight work? The work is being done on a 1965 M-94 Winchester (30/30) I don't see how the Williams FP-94/36 peep sight is better than the factory rear sights, but I reckon I should get it working first.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

    It should work with the standard front sight,but you should remove the stock rear or you will be looking at it and the front sight.

    on some of these I've had to put a taller front sight on (rifle will shoot high w/factory front sight). try it and see.

    Thanks guys. The rifle was shooting low and to the left, (3rd quadrant) about 4-5 inches from the bulls eye. I adjusted the FP sights and have got close but something tells me my front sight might be off b/c the FP sight is moved quite a bit to the right and off center. Also, the Factory Rear Sight Blade broke and I can't find a replacement, anyone know where I can find one just to have a complete factory set up if I need it. Thanks a bunch guys, Thomas

    I installed this sight on a Marlin 336 in 35 Rem and when using Hornady Leverlution (?) ammo, the front sight was not high enough. Bought a tru-glo front sight. Worked great![:)]
