PRIVATE MESSAGING...

Every other forum we belong to has the feature of private messaging another user, why isnt it here?...would be great, if a mod is needed, (like the civil rights thread) them pm the mod....like instant messaging ..dont have to wait for them to check their mail...

    Receipients computer must have compatible program as sender to IM (instant message). And receipient must have the IM program running. Joe

    I remember when I first joined I was looking all over for it. LOL
    Cause like BR says every other forum has it...at least the other 7 forums I'm on do.

    this board SHOULD be converted to phpbb3, It would greatly increase membership and functionality.

    This board has the most archaic posting system that I have ever seen. I downloaded a freeware message board system that was better than this one for one of the web sites that I manage. I could replace this archaic program in less than a day with a better one. Probably lose the history though but it would be worth it!

    Then you haven't been on the North American Arms forum. I think it was programed by Marconni. It's really archaic... makes this board look modern, maybe programmed by Al Gore.[:o)]

    Dave: The private message option at all the other forums we belong to is very handy.. If you see someone on line and want to tell them something without using the board then all you do is message them, If they are not on line when they do get there the message is stored .

    Most of these forums have a FREE buy sell trade section and people use the private message to conduct their business without interupting the board.

    The above is the best reason I see for GB not to have a private message board..But it would be convenient so people wouldnt be using up board space , and easier then Emailing someone..
