Ammo $$$$ didn't go up .

Had to swing by Wally World today , Thought I would check the ammo prices while there . The prices were the same as they were back in October at the start of small game season [:)] some of their prices were , 550 count pk's 22's $9.98 Fed, Win & Rem .
12ga 1 1/4 #4,5,or 7 1/2 shot 3 3/4 drams 2 3/4" Remington only $10.67 for a box of 25 ( picked up 10 boxes of #5 shot [:)] )
The Value pk's of Fed and Rem 12 ga. were still around $16 or $ 17.oo.
Didn't think to check the pistol ammo , I load my own for my handguns.
This store is located in Shamokin Pa.
Thought for sure that it would have gone up after reading a thread on this forum last Sunday , someone said that all the prices had gone up at thier locale Wally World ?

    Stopped by Gander Mtn. today. Standard Rem. Core-Lokt .270 and .30'06 was $19.99 a box.[:(!] Everything else was high also. Stopped at wally-world and bought some Rem. .22 Golden HP's $12.32 and Win. Dyna-points for $11.54.

    At our Gander RipOff Regular core lokts are 22.99.... At the Wal-Mart, they at 13.56. The shotgun shells at Wal Mart did go up... Sure Shot is at 5.47 and AA's are 7.50. At gander the cheapest of the stuff s 7.00 and AA's are 8.79. More and more glad I reload. I can always find deals on bullets, and I have more than enough brass.

    Was in Wally World last night in Harrisonville, MO. The clerk in Sporting Goods told me they they had just raised prices this past Wednesday and were told to expect another raise the first of Feb. The lowest price increase they had was on 550 rds of Federal 22's. They went from $9.98 to $11.98.

    At the gunshop up the street, Remington 22mag ammo (the good stuff..ballistic tip) doubled in price.

    Did you ask why? I think Jan 1st has just become a good excuse to be greedy.

    Every time my wife or I go to Wally we buy at least one box of UMC .223 ammo for my AR-15 and mini-14's. I was paying around $5.00 a box now it close to $8.00 a box. The Rem core lokt ammo I use for varmit hunting is $16.00+.

    Now a days when I am looking to buy a gun I check the price of ammo then buy a gun accordingly. What a shame.

    Thanks Tarter, Yea that's the greek ammo. It's good stuff but I have another site that I can get 192 rounds greek 30-06 on en clips for $72 and that includes shipping. Ends up being about $7.25 for 20 rounds. So for membership and shipping through cheaper it's probably the same maybe a litte more depending how much ya buy.[8D]

    They used to have the cheapest ammo some years back, got all mine from them. Winchester too. Now Winchester is one of the most expensive and at Walmart it is at least twice what is used to be. Guess where I am not buying my ammo from.

    up up up and away.... backdoor gun control if you ask me. Because copper and lead prices have fallen in the last few months yet the prices keep going up.

    I own an AR variant the 6.8 spc and a box is going for 18-20 dollars, 24 for hornady... be happy with your 8 dollar 5.56 rounds.

    I,m sure its just a matter of time until it goes up here in Pa. [B)]
    but until then , I'll just keep stock piling it [8)]

    my brother in law @ sportsmans say's dillon 550's are flying off the selves. as is 223,308 brass dies small,large rifle primers and bullets.

    He says they have truck loads of ammo in the back and they will lose their arse's if people continue to reload and prices drop.
