TC Encore Prohunter Barrels, Custom or factory?
I just got a new Thompson Center Pro Hunter and I want to get several of the barrels offered but I am researching whether to buy factory or buy a barrel that has been "accurized"? I see on the internet E.Arthur Brown Company has custom barrels for a little more money, is it worth it? Are custom barrels really more accurate and consistent?
Any thoughts or experiences are welcome. Thanks!

My experience is more with the SSK bbls than those from Brown. I believe that J D's ( J D Jones - SSK Industries) bbls are generally superior to those from Thompson. However, I have owned several from Thompson that were capable of excellent groups.

I don't know if they're any better, but there's something inside me that really really wants a 14" fluted barrel from SSK in .460 XVR. 0 -
bullberry makes some great barrels as well.
I have had great luck with the factory barrels. the oldest (22-250) has around 400 rounds down it. And it still shoots better than i do most days.0 -
I've had excellent luck with Fox Ridge Outfitters. All the barrels that I own from TC are very good, all can out shoot me. 0 -
