S&W MP .40 Cal review
Today was range day for about 23 of the guys from various local LEA's. One guy from a small PD that can choose their Duty weapons had a S&W .40 MP. The gun was so problamatic I ask him to go back to the end of the line and clean his gun. Finally his turn come up and we started the qualification, the first 4 shots fired but using a T-7 human target he would have failed if the gun continued. He then began having stove pipe jams. This is already been a long day. I take the gun and fire it myself to be sure there was no limp wristing. I fired 4 Rounds which was way off on the target then had a fail to feed. Finally I told the guy he would need to schedule another date with me and have his sidearm fixed or purchase another. This may have been a isolated case with his gun, but I have heard other bad reports about the gun. If it had functioned properly Im quit sure he would have failed to qualify. Anyone else have any info on the guns performance?

I own a s&w 40ve and it is the worst piece of crap EVER! I only gave a couple of hundred bucks for it and have since realized that you get what you pay for... So from now on I buy big money guns...
My next H/G will be a 357 airweight for my ol lady.0 -

Its possible we were using Winchester Ranger 155 gr ammo, but as badly as the gun shot I dont believe ammo would have made that much of a difference.0 -
1,400 + rounds through mine with all sorts of ammo and not one problem. Have also heard all types of horor storis. Just figured I got a good one. 0 -
I've only run about 100-200 rounds out of mine it's only about 1 month old...No problems so far.. 0
