Anyone have any dealings with Collector Firearms in Houston?
http://collectorsfirearms.com/ I am looking for a particular type of firearm. Nothing matches in GB. Davidsons shows it as "allocated". Local dealer hasn't had one in over a year. Davidson's is his supplier.

I found a new one at Collectors for $619.95. I figure with shipping, WA state sales tax, and the receiving FFL's fees, I will be right at MSRP OF $704 before sales tax.

Recommendations?

    If you give us more details on the gun, maybe we can steer to a dealer with a lower price. We have connections in here, ya know. [;)]

    I go in there from time to time. They have some nice guns and a lot of guns - both new and used, so you can spend lots of time in the store. They have some folks that know their stuff. they are on the high side of the price line, but the selection is one of the better ones around.

    Looking at the guns in stock, the prices seem high. I guess it depends on what it is you are looking for and if anyone else has a better price. I can find a better price on all of their modern pistols.

    all his guns are priced high to serve a high market. ive bought guns from him. he has to talk to this 'boss' to haggle. he will, but you gotta really bug him. you ought to see his storefront. youd think youre in the queen of englands arms castle. (bling.)

    here is a used one with box over on the auction side,cant tell much from the pic but it looks like its going for a few hundred less than new

    I was asking about the reputation of the supplier, but if someone can find me a new one, in the box, by all means let me know.

    That looks like it might be a nice one. It would be worth it to ask the seller more questions and for some better pics.

    Selection is Great, but the Prices are High especially on accesories. I like their "former pimp gun" display. But they are honest business men.

    I have never bought anything from them but I do look at the stuff regularly and they have always see,ed high to me. but if they have what you want and can't find it else ere than it is worth it.

    NO! I used to live in Houston and made many trips to Collectors. A great selection of new, used and antique firearms. As much of a museum as a store.

    I agree with the earlier posters that they are a bit higher than average on price. I stopped in there about two months ago during a business trip back to Houston and they were very helpful showing me numerous 1911s. I had been looking at a used 1911 online and the description on the website matched what I saw when I inspected the gun in person.
