    I have learned to think, thank you.

    I no longer engage in these free for alls, as this is the internet. And nothing or nobody's mind is going to change.

    During Christmas break and summer vacation these things happen around here, either get used to it, or leave.

    Exactly. Just treat them like little heatherns at the mall. They don't know how to act because they weren't reared properly. Ignore them.

    Believe me Alpine, it has been made clear that likemindedness is a virtue amongst the faithful here. Pretty soon though some of the members here are gonna HAVE to get rid of the 8tracks as the music will have worn off.

    He did stimulate intelligent conversation but the problem was that he and only he was correct and used some sort of circular logic and degeneration of other member's views and opinions if they differed from his. His downfall was his arrogance.

    I agree LJ...I like to debate and hear more than one side as it helps me know how to defend my rights.

    However, no matter what anyone said, we were wrong and he was right. Then he would put some much verbage into his response that you didnt know if you were coming or going. Typical double speak of the politicians.

    I enjoy this forum, but my big disappointment is that controversial topics can not be debated like grownup, professional, educated members of the human race. Invariably one side or the other at some point steps off the slippery slope and starts belittling the other side or starts name calling! We just can't seem to make our points to the best of our ability and if no beliefs are changed simply agree to disagree and part honorably. That's why I stay out of those type exchanges and have become relegated to respond to the mundane, yet less controversial topics like "what's for supper"!

    The only problem I had with PB was not his postition on agruments, but rather the fact that he insulted everyone who disagreed with him. PB was clearly an intellegent person, and a skilled debater, however he could not debate a topic without insulting and baiting everyone who disagreed.
    That's why he was labeled a troll.

    I agree. He is obviously educated and well-informed. He did make some very thought-provoking points and could have been a welcome and respected member of this forum were it not for his arrogance and refusal to be as objective with others as he expected of them. In spite of his mastery of the English language, he needs to learn and accept the difference between "debating" and "dueling".

    Our opinions notwithstanding, I suspect that we have not heard the last of him.
