need to know about what this is worth

i have a guy that wants to trade me and i need to know about what this is worth. 1909 Argentine Mauser action.22-250 Stainless fluted heavy barrel, Fajen laminated stock, Leupold mounts, tasco 6-24x50 scope, Timney trigger,Beuhler safety. just need a rough estimate on what its worth. i took this to the local gun show and got so many different values witch i will probably get the same here but hoping at least two or more people will agree on the same value. the gun show ranged from 1000 to 2400 pretty wide area. the guy i bought it from had it appraised at scheels and was told 2200 or somewhere around there cant remember for sure but i just don't see this being worth that much. especially after how low my auctions been going for it. but then again i had to send in the serial number and description along with pics to my house insurance to have them appraise it and they put it at 2800. so who knows. figured your guys might know a ruff value. the guy that wants to trade me wants me to meet him at scheels and have them appraise it and check it out to make sure its in safe working order. i just don't want to waste a trip up there (1oo miles) just to find out there going to put it around 500 that id about what the auction is going for.

    Custom rifles, as nice as they can be, dont hold any of their value. Unfortunatly it has a junk scope on it too. Its worth what a varmit hunter will pay you. 400-700 bucks would be my guess.

    I would go up to 650.00. The scope is not even considerable, but the gun itself has some nice features. The key to this type of rifle is how much it has been shot, and using what loads.

    Depends on the barrel. You can pay $400-$500 for a match quality fluted barrel in stainless steel or $150-$250 for a standard shooter fluted in stainless. Has the action been blue printed, bolt face trued etc etc. All of that stuff adds a hundred or more here and there. It is near impossible and damn foolish to attempt a usable evaluation without physically seeing the gun with the proper masuring tools at hand. I would guess based solely on the el-cheapo scope that this gun has none of the features that would dictate a high end appraisal of over $1000.

    it didnt come with the scope. it was just one i had laying around and it held such a good pattern that i just left it on. i had planed on picking up a mark 4 or atn for it but all i use it for is varmint so i didnt see a need for it.
