BATON ROUGE, La. (AP) - A woman shot at least two people then turned the gun on herself Friday morning at Louisiana Technical College, police said.
Few details were available. Cpl. L'Jean McKneely said he did not know how many people were shot or whether any of the shootings were fatal.
You know, all of these high profile shootings, of late, are NOT going to be good for gun owners.

Now if students on campus were allowed to carry she would have been shot much sooner, and innocent people would not be shot. But by banning guns the criminals are all going to follow the new law right? 0 -

I don't normally wear a tinfoil hat and black helicopters don't concern me.
However, this is one instance where I deviate from my normal thought process.
It seems terribly strange to me that, whenever there is going to be serious legislation in favor of gun owners, that some high-profile shootings take place and normally wind up derailing the legislation.
I remember when Colorado was talking about simplifying the whole CCW process and taking power out of the hands of politicians. On almost the eve of the vote, when it looked like this was going to pass with flying colors, Columbine took place.
Now, we're in another historical moment. SCOTUS is considering Heller. It sure seems strange to me that when the CW states this is a slam-dunk case, even gun-haters admit this, that we've got a whole rash of high-profile shootings.
Like I said, I don't normally wear a tinfoil hat, yet I can't help but smell a rat.0 -
Why would an instance like this focus on the firearm? why should any new laws be made about the right to own a firearm?
If anything there should be laws made or enforced about criminal action.
