Curious about CA & MA stickers on guncases

Last month I bought a Para Ordinance 1911 LTC (commander size 1911)in Indiana. On the guncase are two stickers. The CA sticker say's "Not for Sale in California" and the MA sticker basically states that the sale of this handgun to a retailer or consumer is prohibited. Why is a hangun with an 8rd mag. illegal in these states? I'm too lazy to search for these states gun laws. I'm lazy but curious.

I also just bought an XD40SC and it has the California sticker but not the Mass. sticker. It has a 12rd. mag. What's up with this?

    Because those states have Commie laws......and they don't deserve to have guns.

    My guess is that you got an firearm that does not have a "loaded chamber indicator." Or maybe there are additional CA and MA locking requirements now. But it's only a guess.

    In my opinion, simplicity equals safety. Conversely, more moving parts equals more things to either go wrong or confuse the operator. My hero John Browning would agree.

    Conclusion: you got a better gun by buying one with those stickers on the case.

    May not have a fired case in the box with the pistol...

    Also, in Cali, to get on The Approved List, a sample and a check must be sent *each year*. And this holds true for all combinations - so a stainless colt 1911 and a blued colt 1911 are gonna cost Colt 2 samples and 2 checks... want one with a shorter barrel? Now you are talkin 4 guns and 4 checks, etc.

    Yep, my Para doesn't have a loaded chamber indicator and it didn't come with a fired case. My XD came with both. Thanks.

    For some reason that pistol is not on the famous Californa "drop list", the reason for that? Only the DOJ knows and there not telling. I got in a wonderful Para Ord PX7SB and I had to pull it off the self due to it being pulled off the list, the reason it was pulled? Para changed the front sight.
