Bushmaster AR 15!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I Took my Bushmaster AR 15 to the range for the first time today and I cant find any words to describe it! I sighted it in at 50 yrds just to get it on paper then I stretched it out to 100 yrds.The FIREARM is unbelieveable! Notice I called it a firearm instead of a rifle . Thats because as far as Im concerned its in a class all by itself.I sighted in at 50 yrds just to get it on paper and switched to 100 yrds w/out making any adjustments and it was dead on.Now that Ive seen what my baby can and will do its time to dress her up! To be honest this is the "BEST" fire arm Ive ever had, I cant wait to get back on the range again. I'd like to see what she will do at longer ranges , whats the range on a .223?

I shoot mine at 200, 300, and 500 yards with the 10x SuperSniper mounted on the flat top.
The Harris bipod is my only other accessory.0 -

Can you post a pick of the sight , Ive got a wallyworld bipod a presure switch light on the front of it and a 4x16 x40ir scope on it0 -

The riser blocks allow clearance for the scope. They are YHM and I picked them up in a S. Texas gunshop. I would rather it be a bit lower, but it wouldn't fit otherwise. I have a Red Dot for fun and have the carry handle in the safe.

I want one really bad, working on limited budget and trying to find the best way to "acquire" one for least funds..... yea like everyone else, I know, but I'm willing to learn how to build it myself, etc. Just don't know HOW. Is there a good book or manual on WHAT to buy to build one yourself or a good web site that gives good instruction? I'm looking at a couple now but they don't provide enough info for a true AR novice.
I'm getting like everyone else about the potential future of our so called "right to bear arms"....... if they can't outlaw the guns, they're going to make ammo impossible to find or afford or both. I want to get my hands on a good, mid-grade, AR and willing to WORK and LEARN to make it happen.
Any help from the wise is welcomed......

A buddy just got a stripped lower, and parts kit. Built the lower in about an hour with just the instructions that came with the kit.
He will buy an upper at the next local gun show.
I figure he will have about $500 in it when he is done.
There are lots of kits out there.

Are those Leupold PRW rings? If so are they medium or high? It seems like the high would have worked without the risers.0 -
I think so.
I bought the scope cheap from a buddy that was upgrading to an IOR and I got the rings thrown in. I think they are medium height.
I have seen the high Leupold rings and they work.

If it was my rilfe I would look at getting optics then a Rock River National match tigger, followed by a bi-pod.

I was looking at that scope through bushmasters and it says it has the range finder/BDC, how does it work? Im thinking of making it my V-DAY gift from the wifey.0 -
there is just something like a line of black guns, I can't say if it's sexy or just down right intimidating. But they are sure nice to gaze upon.
I have a book just called GUNS, its has pic's and a little info on them, it amazes me how much time I'll just set and read about them.

I don't know about my AR yet, buy I'm pretty good with an M-16a2, open sights, out to 500 yds or so using the echo target.
You gotta dial in the front sight at 36 yards (BZO) and you're good at 300 with the 8/3 sight setting (8/3-2 for 200 yds), then up to 5 for 500 yds. You really gotta watch the flags if there's any wind, though.0 -
I've never owned an AR but after shooting one a few weeks ago I am thinking it would be a great additon to the gun collection 0 -
I agree they are great rifles, I have a colt match-target H-bar and my boy has a bushmaster,we have shot praire dogs at 300 yard, my son loves his gun, and so dose all his friends 0 -

It has the second focal plane mildot reticle which allows for rangefinding. Get a Mildot Master to use it efficiently.0 -

My BSA has mildots would that be the same ? If so right now Im sighted in at 100 yrds, would the first mildot be roughly 150 yrds?0 -
